Normal is set to 1650 headspeed. I start spooling up as normal and most of the time the governor kicks in and goes right to the desired headspeed...but sometimes, it will just go straight up to screaming. Since my curve is linear and gassers are going to running a super high rpm at 50%, I assume it isn't that the governor is driving the throttle to wide open...but rather the governor isn't actually doing anything and has fallen back to my curve.
All I have to do is pump the throttle down and then back up and everything starts working.
Does anyone know why the governor sometimes chooses to not work? I know there are some safety settings built into this thing. Is it that my headspeed is already too high as I approach a quarter stick?
I am baffled. I went into the advanced setup and tried to find something that would make the governor turn on sooner but was unable to find anything.
Edit: I kept looking and found the OnRV advanced setting. I have set this from 70 to 60 and will see if having the governor turn on a little sooner will help...but still interested in any thoughts others might have.
