Hey guys I am setting up my Vbar on my trex700 and was wondering what kind of mounting method you used to get your gyro sensor right,, did you use zeal(seems like it would flex to much), spartan tape with metal plate or what,, thanks guys for any info,

Zeal strapped down quite hard is a winner.

Spartan with metal plate works too.

Zeal works really well, with the xtra vibes a 90 nitro puts out, zeal is the ticket.

i have mine spartan style with the metal plate.. had slight drift when i mounted it without any metal plate.

Actually surprising that for $500 mikado doesnt put a plate and some extra tape in there...

Me and my buddy set my 700 and his 600 up with the zeal tape,, strapped and unstrapped,, tail wags and weird cyclic movements,, we both got a spartan kit on yesterday ,, thick foam then metal plate and thin tape,, NO PROBLEMS<< worked great all problems stopped,, loving the Vbar,, I don't see how the Zeal works for some people but to each his own,,

Once Vbar V5 comes out, we will be able so see which mounting system actually cuts vibes the most. Or perhaps the different systems ( ie: zeal or spartan kit ) are best at dampening specific frequencies of vibration and that's why one system seems to work best for one person, and the other for the next ??? First person may have clutch runout vibes and the second one has a slightly tweaked main/tail shaft or slightly out of balance main/tail blades.
Can't wait !

Kevin, you hit it right on the head! Changing mounting methods would be much more informative. No more wondering if the change is an improvement or not. Would be a great tool.

^^ +1 KevinB & Ed W

As Ed knows, definitely the least enjoyable / most frustrating part about tuning a Vbar for me. Can't tell you how much tape I've wasted with some helis.

Luckily for my 3 helis I've been able to get away with Sensor > Thin Spartan > Spartan Plate > Futaba Tape > Heli

Zeal tape and align strap works for me so far. Maybe I should try the Spartan Kit and see which one works better.

Hi Duke,

No, I couldn't find it in Europe - never mind the UK

Purchased it from ReadyHeli in the US. Here's the link.
