This is dumb question, but can u simply use a Ys-50 backplate on an os-50 to make it have back plate pressure instead of exhaust pressure?

No, you would need a regulator, the OS has none. Plus I doubt the backplate would fit in any case.

You can allways tap the OS backplate and put a nipple on it but like bkervaski said,you'll need a reg for the carb..
