It will kill the economy.
This is the truth of it.

From the money that the troops get paid to the money the defense industry is making from all of the stuff we are using, that war is the only thing keeping this sham of an economy from sinkng completely.

All of the money going into the war is "somewhat" funneled back into the US.

Obama's puppet masters have let him know this in no uncertain terms.

The war cannot be won. The people in that region of the world are not evolved enough- culturally, mentally- whatever to be able to rule themselves in any semblance of a democracy.

Whether we leave now or in ten years there will be no change in the outcome of Afgahnistan or Iraq. Staying there keep the US's sham of an economy going just a little bit longer.

What he said was a bit tricky. Went something like " we will withdraw as carefully as we were wreck-less in going there."

politician of course. Well played. Question i have is: Where are all the democrat objectors now? all of a sudden its all OK. No blood for oil chants... bitter spitting of hate... all gone now.

Of course it begs another question: Why fuss if he is doing the responsible thing? Frankly its the only thing he has done right. IMO 'bama gets 1 point for finally doing something right.

^^^^ yes and yes. Everybody thinks FDR was brilliant. The US got strong because we went to war and energized our manufacturing. Had nothing to do with him. And yes, one of the biggest things keeping this craphole afloat is the fact that we're at war. It's a shame, but it's true.
Oh, BTW, whatever happened to closing Gitmo in the first 90 days???? Funny, cuz everything he ran on and bashed Bush for, he's still doing.

Everything else he's said was a lie so why expect any different now?

playing devils advocate here.

I don't believe BHO ever said he would end the war in afghanistan. He said he would shift focus and resources away from Iraq and onto/into afghanistan.

Stupidity can be cured. Ignorance is for life!

Thats correct on Afghanistan. But, himself and his lib buddies wanted to leave Iraq as soon as possible.

Of course, Biden now says Iraq is Obama's best success.

They are rapidly drawing down in Iraq. You really expected him to end the way on January 21st 2009 and get all troops out?

Really?

Of course not.

But, you could not tell that in his (Obama's) campaign. In his campaign, he wanted to pull them out immediately (I believe he said within 12 months) in order to satisfy his loony far left pals. Of course, now, they are unhappy with him.

He said that he would end the war in Iraq immediately but since Bush's surge strategy was working he decided to stay and take the credit for winning.
