I have never heard of this before...

http://www.readyheli.com/K10457A-Al...el_p_34659.html

Thanks to Pulento for bringing it to my attention.

Do any of you use this gel successfully?

Have you had issues with foam, tried the gel, and did it solve any vibration induced issues???

Thx

Saturday morning I flew my helicopter in my pajamas
How it got in my pajamas I'll never know

I didn't like it with the FBL. Stock futaba tape works best

I haven't tried the Align tape, but I've used Zeal tape which I think might be similar. I didn't like it as it seemed too sloppy on some helis, and seemed to give feedback. I know a few people that like it, but most of the people i know that tried it, ended up going back to more conventional tape. Spartan is my favorite.

Zeal tape is about double thick than the Align one. So you have to strap your gyro gently to avoid resonance. Zeal is used where high frecuency is present like gasser.

I prefer the Align because is a lot cheaper and thinner. Both tapes are reusable I hate the Spartan/Futaba/EveryGyro tapes because aren't reusable.

I dunno why but I prefer 520 feeling over my Spartan 760. Both are great gyros. It's like people that love MiniG's feeling.

Be careful reusing Zeal tape. If you read around in some of the forums you'll find some horror stories from this. When you peel Zeal off of something, true, it still feels tacky, but it's really the tackiness of the rubber itself, not the original adhesive. I think it's made of something like the old octopus kids toy that would slowly crawl down a window - always sticky, but never permanent. Apparently this additional tackiness will let go pretty easily (no personal experience with this, as I never reused it). If you always strap the gyro down well, this may not be an issue, as you're really only depending on friction from the zeal tape.

Personally, I don't move gyros all that much, and I guess I don't mind the $0.25 or so for new tape. Just my two cents.

That's why you have to wash it before reuse

What the posts in the other forums were claiming was that washing only increased the tackiness of the rubber, just like the kids toy, but of course didn't replace the original adhesive that was originally on the tape. Again, I quit using it for other reasons, so I'm only reporting this as second-hand info, but if you're thinking of re-using it, it might be worth doing a quick search of the forums to read about others that have tried this. There were a number of crashes attributed to the gyro falling off of reused tape. Strapping it down will certainly reduce the likelihood of this, but also decreases the effectiveness of the damping.
