Other than a crash, what causes the main shaft and the feathering spindle to get bent ? All of a sudden, I had a lot of vibration and blade tracking in the air was very bad. I discovered that the main shaft was bent but I haven't crashed in ages. ????

Very bad set of blades perhaps. My bent spindles have all been caused by ground contact though.

i had this happen on my old vigor. new, never crashed. never suspected the super expensive main shaft was bent out of the package, but it was. caused a lot of trouble. JR Quality all the way!

Slight boom strike?

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

What about a bad bearing "slipping" on the shaft creating heat, and then deformation? Just a thought.

Just curious, is there a cure for this addiction?

It doesn't look to be the case with yours but, I've had shafts come right out of the package bent ... several. I always check them prior to install now. Hard landings can cause shafts to bend. Tail shafts can get bent in transit.

Hangar rash is typically the culprit. or possibly the wife with the vacum ?? or a tip over in the back of the car.

Is your headspeed to high? Maybe you have too much torque on the head. Have you balanced your main blades?

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
