I have setup 3 helis in the last few weeks and each heli now has a problem with the belt pulling to the right side of tail shaft pulley pinion. This in turn seems to wear down the edge of belt and probably will cause more problems once they are in the air. I have manually tried straightening it, but upon spinning mains, it pulls right back to the right.

I assume I am doing something wrong and that it is not a problem with each of these 3 helis. Let me know if you need more info to assist. Please help.

Perhaps the entire tail assembly is not 90 degrees to the main shaft. If your "eye ball" alignment is off it may cause the same symptom on all three helis?

Just curious, is there a cure for this addiction?

Since it is happening on three different machines, could be a normal function of the twist in belt pulling it to one side some at tail pulley.

Thanks for those thoughts, both of you. I will look into that. Anyone else got some ideas?

I think maybe the belt is double twisted inside the boom

Do a search here on tail idler pulley.

Common problem resolved by removing the top idler pulley on the tail housing.
