Question, does anyone know how to CHECK/VERIFY what a particular option is currently set to? I know u can change each option but how do you verify whats currently set without changing the option? I couldn't find this anywhere..can it be done?

also when i program my 60A ESC, the manual says your supposed to get a DOO-DAHH when a successful option has been accepted, on mine all i get is 3 beeps no matter what i enter.. Even under the GOV function in the manual it states enter SS then 2 then enter and you will get 2 beeps... I get always get 3 beeps no matter what option i choose anywhere...

Anyone have this esc and know the answer?

Are you using the IR programmer that it comes with?

Of course
Using the IR already, it is the only way to program....

Really the main reason i wanted to verify or check what option is programmed is because i am ALWAYS getting 3 beeps no matter what FUNCTION or function parameter i select..
The manual states that for example when changing LVC you should get a DII-DOOH, then the manual states that when setting GOV press SS->2->ENTER and you should get 2 beeps, well i get 3 beeps

No matter what i select i always get 3 beeps...

Is there no way to verify what each function is set to without re-setting that function?

If I remember correctly, the way I would set my Scorpion ESCs is to program it to all of the default settings on all of the items, and then once I was sure it was there, I would select each individual option (like which soft start I wanted). Sorry I can't be more help. It has been a long time since I had to program a Scorpion ESC. They are still functioning well at least 1 year later.

Aren't the beeps telling you how many cells are connected?

Thanks for your reply

if this is the case, then i wouldn't know because the manual mentions nothing about this... but it would make sense as i do have a 3 cell lipo hooked up...

you would think the manual would match real world experience....ohh wait this is a HK company so maybe it does make sense now... Maybe i should have ICE'ed it instead

Thanks...it should be ok, iam still assembling but once i get the blades on ill do more testing...

P.S. One thing that made me think my programmer wasn't working correctly is because i figured i would change the rotation just for testing... RO - or motor rotation direction which in MY manual says 1 for clockwise and 2 for counterclockwise didn't work BUT i just found a MORE RECENT MANUAL that states RO is disabled now...

Just write an email to Lucien Miller at Innov8tive Designs. He is the US importer for Scorpion products. He will tell you exactly what to do. He knows these products very well, and he is very helpful.

You did bring up a good point about the programming. I have one of these also, but I don't remember the beep patterns I heard. I more or less watched the LEDs while programming if I remember correctly. I would like to know if you get any good info from innov8tivedesigns.

Programming would be nice to know. I did have a problem with mine first flight that I attribute to not knowing what the cutoff was programmed at. I thought I had programmed it correctly, but apparently not. Reprogrammed that function and everything is now fine by what I can tell.

I've been wondering where Lucien is. He hasn't responded to my email either. Why don't you write a email to the Scorpion factory? They can probably help you.

Well, I am using a scorpion motor as well. While flying, the motor shaft came out of the rear of the case causing the pinion to slid past the main gear of the heli and locked up after chewing up the gear. I guess the lockup fried the ESC.

Lucien was at the Toledo show, so his responses will be delayed a couple of days probably. I am waiting on a response. I hope they warranty this problem since the motor came apart in flight (only the 3rd flight).

I have at least 10 Scorpion motors, and I have never had a problem with any of them like you're describing. I guess you had some bad luck? I'm positive they will replace your motor and ESC for free under warranty. Stuff like that should never happen.

Bad luck
Ouch ace...sounds like an isolated issue...i too have never heard of anything remotely like this... Hope u get it squared up...

so far i like my Scorpion -6, decent power nice flight times.. did just 3-4 flights though as iam waiting to be able to program the ESC first...

I am just going to have inno8 send me a new 60Amper, and ill send them back the defective one...its gotta be a defective one as the LED on the IR sensor doesn't even light up...

I should know in a week but even with everything at default it ran very well...

I hope to hear from Lucien soon. I know he is coming back from Toledo. I have a heard a lot of good things about these motors and ESC's and I have also heard a few bad things, but nothing like this. This was my first time using this size of motor and ESC. The rear of the motor shaft was completely out of the rear bearing. I haven't heard of this happening before, so I hope is was an isolated incident. I am just glad I was able to get the heli down without much damage. I hope to give this combo another shot if Scorpion will cover it, as I was just starting to like how the heli was performing.

It sure stripped the main gear all the way around when it dropped out. It appears that the pinion set screw was what chewed the gear up because the lower half of the gear is still good.

We will soon see how this is handled...
