Anyone have any of the new Align 40C packs and charged them at 4-5C?

Does it say on them that you can...anyway I would not go more than 2C, you will not win much more time at 3 and 4C compaired to 2C, because of the trickle charge at the end.

Why do people come into threads like this and say crap like that? People will either be safe while charging or not, and it has nothing to do with whether they are charging at 2C or 4C.

Honestly wasn't meant to be "crap". Still a firm believer in you get what you pay for, granted you can get ripped off overpaying as well. Hell, I would order from HC if they didn't have the high shipping costs, but I wouldn't charge any packs at above 1 unless other stated unless you want to void a warranty, although those don't do much good on "most" packs anyways. I don't hate align, I have some of their products.

When I charge at home I dont charge more than 1C. I do like to charge them as quickly as possible at the field though. Personally I think the higher the discharge C rating the higher the charge C rating should be, this is the case for many other packs now.

Charging packs at high current....
Just have a good charger and you should be able to do it no problem....as long as the charger can monitor the individual cell voltages.

I use a Hyperion Duo and can charge at 4C. Make sure you closely monitor the pack (don't leave the house)!

Yes I would also think that the higher the battery's C rating the higher the charge current should be.

Try to put all the chances on your side. On the Hyperion duo charger get the temp. monitor and use it. I have a friend to who this was useful, charger stop charging because the battery was getting to warm. Even if you do use these safety features you should always still monitor your batteries as they charge...which means stay close to them.

lipos do not get hot because you charge them at 2 or 4c. I would suspect something with the charger, not the pack.
