I fly OS 55 , never had the chance to try the YS 56.

But if the 56 works similar to 91SR my next 600 engine will definately be a 56 YS

I have a 55 and a friend has a 56. The 56 is making more power and just seems more refined - for the same price. Combined with OS poor warranty record, I wish I had bought a YS.

I run YS50 and YS91SR, if you want to run a fuel magnet they will empty the tank and run for 10 seconds more (not recommended unless you are over the pad!) plus the fuel magnet will stay clean and won't disintegrate for well over a year. I finally redid my 50's fuel system recently just to be safe. I'm not sure but I think the exhaust from the OS does attack fuel magnet foam over time. The OS is a good engine for sure, I just think the fuel magnet is great with YS. Oh, and you can F up either one just as quickly with a lean run.

In doing so contaminate the fuel in your filling jug. I've heard pros and cons to draining the tank as you suggest by pumping out the ehaust till full then sucking the tank back dry till the next use or simply filling the tank and leaving it.
Dont know which is right or wrong, its a damned if you do and damned if you dont situation dependant only on whom you ask.

Not sure about the 55 and the 56 but from my experience there was no comparison between the OS Hyper 50 and the YS 50. The YS was simply a second grade engine in my opinion.

Kudos to those who liked them though...

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.
