I have an sdx with an OS hyper 50 in it. What headspeed do you recommend? I just broke in the new motor and got it tuned how I want it, and i was going to turn on the muligov but not sure what to run. I dont do 3d flight, just fff some loops and rolls occasionaly... still learning. Also should I leave the heli in normal idle for fff and just use idle up for loops and rolls?

I am going to be getting one of these as my only Nitro . For FFF w/ Loops & Rolls 1850RPM for the HS is more than adequate. I run between 1950RPM - 2000RPM HS for 3D flying. I always fly my helis in Idle Up and only use Normal for test hovers.

I only need one!

I agree with the above comment.

I'm in normal mode for take off and landings and sometimes FF. You want to be in idle up for regular flight

I'm running my Normal (spoolup) HS at 1800 and set my 3D Headspeeds at 1950-2050. You can definitely fly around in Normal if you'd like, but generally once you're up and hovering, the first thing you should do is flip into an Idle-up mode for any flying. I always had a bad tendancy to get up in hover and decide to go inverted or something, but inadvertantly would forget to flip the switch. Doh!

Jeff,

I purposely set my normal/hover rpm as low as possible without the model mast bumping. Because in the old days when I use to run old MP 1 on a 60, I would forget which condition I was in do a flip hit the negative and everything would get quiet all the way till the model hit the ground.

My SDX is setup n 1650-1700, idle 1 1900, idle 2 2000 -2050. Still trying to decide which rpm the os 55 likes best. I have found at least for me when the SDX was brand new it took about 1/2 dozen flights before the dampers would allow me to have 1600 -1700 rpm hover.
