If something doesn't feel right, trust your instinct and tear into your heli to look things over. After my last incident with my tail rotor coming off, it has been feeling right. My tail all of sudden developed a wag which wasn't there before. I started to mess with my gain, but knew that couldn't be the problem. It was good before the incident. So I decided to tear it down to replace the belt. Upon doing so, I found my bearing for the pulley off the tail gear disintegrated. A few more flights or less would have ended up in disaster. Do good pre-flights and use your instinct. It can save you trouble.

Just to add what I said earlier. Just did a test flight after replacing the faulty bearings. Wow, what a difference, so quiet and smooth now. Nothing like doing proper maintenance to your heli.

I can't agree enough. Careful checking led to me spotting a tear that went almost a third of the way across my tail rotor drive belt on my Trex 450. No telling how soon it would have broken had I not spotted it.

Which transmitter switch turns off gravity?

Good deal. It is those kind of finds that gives you more confidence when flying.

my raptor 50 is currently disassembled as I wait for a few parts. It's been a while (though I hadnt flown much) and it just didnt feel right. I dont think I've found anything thats broken, but my swashplate moved with a little bit of a notchy feel...Maybe I missed that when I first built the heli! Anyways, I am really looking forward to being back in the air.

Preflights are a must, too! I always do one and always range check each time I go to fly.

just an FYI--I was reassembling my torn-down Raptor and found a good size crack near where the main mast goes into the bearing. It wasnt something that I would have caught if I didnt disassemble and reassemble it. Now new main frames are on order while I sit here with the order that just came in with all the parts I thought I'd need.
