I have the engine on a brand new 700,, I bought the engine used from a good guy on here, he has sold me great stuff in the past,, the engine looks brand new almost,, , the inside of the cylinder looks great, the piston has a slight brown tint on the top over the ring,, the compression seems ok,, here is the problem, I can crank it up, and the engine seems to take a alittle longer to start than most,, but it will idle forever,, i can then move up to a 1/8th throttle and let the blades start spinning up,, it still runs fine, but as soon as I advance the throttle to 1/4 or more it shuts off like you killed the ignition on it,, there is no bubble in the line ,, glow plug is fine,, I have a outrage muffler on it, I can blow in the pressure line and fuel squirts out of the carb line, I have check the nipple on the muffler and it is open ,, my only two thoughts are it is either a pressure problem that the muffler is not getting enough pressure to pressure the tank,, or the engine is low on compression enough to were it is "blew up" ,, I scalded a os 50 hyper a year or so ago, and it was burnt up,, but it would idle forever but as soon as I advanced the throttle it would cut off, identical to what this 90 is doing,, anyway I have it pulled out, and was debating on gettting it serviced or not,, but I have ran out of ideas,,

Have you cleaned the carb? Sure might squirt fuel from the line, but will it squirt fuel thru the spraybar? Open the needles to "way too rich" such as 5 turns out. Then blow and see what squirts thru the carb.

you need to pop the head off and look at the exhuast side of the cylider if you havnt done so as thats the side that takes all the abuse. you can also turn the motor over with your wand by hand and feel if it has decent compression.

my bet is on the midrange needle out of adjustment. try 1 turn out if that doesnt help it may be gummed up and you can use brake cleaner to clean it up/out

We put the low mid and high needles real rich, when it was idleing it was dripping fuel out of the muffler so it was way rich, as I said it run beautiful at idle and then when I advance past 1/4 throttle it cuts off like you shot it, , I looking through the engine it looks like it is fine with a flashlight,, I can grab the bare engine shaft and it feels to have normal compression like my os 50 hyper,,

should be 1 turn out on mid

and roughly 1.5 on high

but you will still need to tune normaly once you get it running right

Ok, I will try that outhouse,, I just pulled the cylinder sleeve out and everything looks PERFECT<, I can still see cross hatches in the cylinder,, and the piston has a nice brown tint to the top and the ring is free and all,, so I will pull the carb off tommorow and clean it real good and then throw it back in the beast with those needle settings and see what happens,, with fingers crossed, I am also replacing all fuel line just as a precaution,, and i will report back,, thanks for all the help so far guys,

Ok guys, I took the carb off cleaned it out, pulled cylinder sleeve out and checked everything,, everything looked great,, I could still see the crosshatches on the cylinder wall,, so I put the engine in the airframe and replaced all fuel and pressure lines,, I started with the needle settings that Outhouse provided,, I fired it up and it ran great,,, so I guess I had it way to rich,, or a hole in a fuel line(which I don't think was the case),, any way, I tuned on it alittle and I am actually a couple clicks leaner than what Outhouse spec'd to me,, so I guess that is fine,, I was not sure how to tune the mid needle, I guess at idle that is how I did it,, it is only 2 clicks leaner and the high end is about 4 clicks leaner than Outhouse's numbers,,
