Would it do any good to put metal center hubs, seesaw assemblies, and washout arms in the oven if I want to remove bearings? A couple of my bearings feel notchy and all of them need grease. I could just put them in the oven but I dont want to if I will have to bash them with a hammer anyways

Go for it.

For most of the smaller bearings, I use a Bic lighter to heat up whatever I'm working on. You don't really need alot of heat

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..
Nope.

It will definitely help. The aluminum will expand faster than the steel bearings, if you heat them up enough, they may just fall right out. Anyway, bashing things with hammers is generally not a good idea

Usually I can get away with just using a heat gun though. Just make sure you have some way of holding things securely once it's heated. If you did it right, you won't be able to hold the part with your bare hands.

If it can't hover, it ain't worth flying.

I use oven or heat gun.
Just changed radial bearings in an set of RJX grips today with a heat gun. If you use oven it is a bit simpler, as you can just throw in at 350 for 10 minutes while you do something else.

Thanks guys. I will get to it tomorrow. I am always looking for an excuse to use 'the greaser'
