2tall...

You can run the Scott 720 with no problem. Also if you want to change the head get the RJX here is the link...

http://www.helidirect.com/trex-600n...ems-p-10622.hdx

I am using this head on my predator with the Scott 720 but I fly naked... Not me my heli...

I don't use electronics, no stabilization just the tail gyro and it fly's super smooth autos are breathtaking rolls are very good and no bog same as tic tocs and loops.

hope this help!

I checked the link, no specs listed regarding grip size. Do you know if they will accept the Scott Gray 14mm roots? Given that the head is designed for a 600 machine the grips may be limited to 12mm.

RJX head
2tall,

This is the head I am running on my FBL setup. Using the Radix 710's as well. It has 14mm grips and 10mm main shaft. Really like the way if flys.

Yes it will work Thats what I'm using on my predator. Check my gallery you will see some pics I put here the first time I did the set up.

The blades will fit perfect with no spacers need it. They say is for a 600 but it work super for ur predator even the spindle is the same size is thickness 8 mm is. I am not saying you can use the preddy spindle it is just the same thickness.

Any how just use the proper brass reduser for the screw on the blades that's all you need so far i had put 20 or so flights no problem.

Hope this help if not pm me I will try to answer any question you have. TTYL

The improved 10mm/12mm adapter arrived sooner than expected, so I'm able to use the Align 700 3G Head. Going to stick with the Radix 710 mains for now. Radix continues to place a large ad at the top of the Flybarless Forum touting the suitability of their blades in FBL. For now I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Meanwhile, I expect that there will be a lot of tweaking and learning before this ship feels "locked in". Besides, if I dropped another $120+ on a new set of mains right now I'd feel "locked out" .

Yes, but...
has it flown yet?
This was the first for everything - Heli, Zenoah, TX/RX, GV-1, Jewel, Stator Gator, Align G3 FBL, and on and on.

First the good news:
The Zenoah started without effort. The GV-1 displayed idle RPM (about 420 initially). Rudder and cyclic inputs responded in the correct directions. The Jewel indicator LED shined bright green, as it should. Vibration was tolerable and seemed to have no effect on the electronics.

The bad news:
Somewhat expected with a new clutch, the blades wanted to spool at idle RPM. (BTW - what is a normal idle RPM for a G26?). The cyclic response was way too sensitive, even with 50% expo. The gyro was seeking badly in heading hold mode. The Volt-Watch indicated red the entire time. The 2400mah RX battery lost half its charge during the one tank flight. With the on-board generator I would have expected the Volt Watch to indicate max green and the RX battery to remain fully charged. The GV-1 did not seem to influence throttle settings in any of the three programmed ranges.

I expect that adjustments/settings will fix most of this. My major concern is the battery drain and lack of charge from the Jewel. It was almost as if the Jewel was discharging rather than charging the RX battery. Don't know any other way to explain the constant red on the Volt Watch, and such a loss of charge on the RX battery after only 20 minutes.

The Best News: Nothing broke or was damaged.

I'm sure Raja will advise you re the jewel output but there has to be some concern that the align system/servos are causing higher current draws than the jewel can sustain or you have some leakage of current.

I recently built a 70n with the GP780 gyro incuded in the kit..the same gyro used for the 3G system?... It's way sensitive to vibration. There'sa vid on the freak of soemone else with a 700N and the tail just hunting all the time.

I solved mine by mounting on zeal and compressing down with tight velcro.. but it still needs a metal attenuation plate on top of the zeal to get perfection..particularly through break-in..even with a nitro.

With FBL you can easily imagine a state where several servos hunting and changing direction fast could be pulling silly amps each and if you have any long wire extensions or y-leads etc then you will have further losses

^^^ I completely agree with you. I'm tempted to convert back to the stock flybar head until the Zenoah is fully broken in and I've had a chance to eliminate all the vibration that can be corrected. The FBL look is ultimately just that - a look, a scale look. These mechanics will eventually live in a UH1 body, preferably a D or H model. That will be a winter project, so I have the next several months to get it flying right as a stock and then FBL pod and boom.

Don't get frustated I use a 5000mha 2c lipo outrage battery on mine I can do 8 flights out of one charge. But I don't have the electronics for the FBL.

My gas tank is the stock, and I don't have the jewel either which I was planning to get but I will see....

I use a 4300mAh 3S Lipo in my Predator and also get 8 flights per charge, more than enough for one day flying, for me.

Saw your post
The first thing you should check is the Jewel being driven and not slipping on the shaft due to a loose coupler. If the engine it idling you can put your finger on it to drag it and see if it stops or continues to turn.

The next thing you can check is to take it off the mount (remote top 2 screws) and secure the jewel motor to a dremel tool and spin it at medium speed. The electronics should all power up and run even without the battery being turned on at the bench.

What happens if you disconnect the Jewel from the system? Do you still get the voltwatch in the red? You should put an amp meter between the battery and the flight system to see what loads it is drawing. Even with a fully charged battery and no jewel, your voltwatch should not be red all the time. Is it possible its switched to 6v instead of 4.8?
