I would bet you are seeing "translating tendency". The clockwise rotation of the main rotor requires right tail rotor compensation. This thrust from the tail rotor must be counteracted by a slight right bank in the helicopter. You are trimming this out while you are upright. When inverted the thrust from the tail rotor is to the left (As you are looking from behind the helicopter) and will require a left bank of the main rotor to counter the tail rotor thrust..

Make sense?

is it drifting fwd/backward or side/side? if fwd/back it may be the heli is not balanced. fwd trim when upright would push the heli back inverted if it's tail heavy.
