been a long time user of these forums and recently had to leave the freak due to political backlash from the users who know me.
why does posting on a forum make some people stupid ?
is there any real differance between heli flyers and plane flyers ?
did you know the large displacement gas engines are available for less than a glow engine?
Doh , fly both and have some fun !

I myself dont care for any of the other heli sites ot there. RR has everything I want in a forum and dont go after a person if they do not agree with them. I find a little more freedom of speech here and open thought then the other site. I left there long ago just didnt like it to many fanboys there for me.

Keep in mind anyone who spends thousands of dollars so they can spend thousands of hours working on a frustrating toy is already not quite right in the head.

Crazy people will be a little crazy now and then.

BTW MY toy is better than yours. So there.

I personally like Freak more just because the way its setup. This site is amazing as well, but I tend to post more over there. Now when it comes to selling things, this site is far, far superior to Freak. I think its because there are more users over here. Either way though, they are both great sites.

When u don't feel like soaring through the air with a plane, beat it into submission w/ a heli!

In my opinion the Freak is a better site in terms of layout and I find it's much better for noobs entering the hobby..ie Bob's instructional vids...etc.

I hang out here mostly in the OT threads to see the banter. Heli Freak is where I spend 90% of my heli site time.

A while ago mark posted that he would have instructional vids similar to the Freak for noobs entering the hobby... never happened.

Side note: Will maintains his site with his personal life in mind... he doesn't have to be on the site EVERY waking moment to see if threads have gone south. He has volunteer mods that do help out and nix posts if need be. mark really should have the same operation if he wishes to relax and enjoy life.

HF is like going to a BBQ with your fellow married adult friends. Smartass crap is less tolerated, which is good because smartass crap is useless and doesn't help anyone but the smartass. HF doesn't "suk" if they want to run at an adult level. It isn't for everyone.

RR is like going to a college beer party. Fun, reasonably intelligent individuals who sometimes lack restraint and haven't figured out it's okay to not just say anything you want. A planker could comes to RR and justify every reason why he hates heli guys after about three minutes of reading. It shouldn't be this way. The freedom to say anything comes with the responsibility to say something worthy of the freedom.

Just two different environments, one isn't necessarily better than the other. I prefer the married BBQ over the college frat party, but both sites have different info that is helpful to me. RR classifieds are superior in my opinion. I like HF's layout more, but RR moves faster and the event vids are top notch here.

I read alot of post here and on other sites and I dont understand this hate / hate thing . I know as long as heli guys hate planks and plankers hate helis and electric hates nitro ect, ect, ect, we all are going to lose in every respect . My opinion is this we all are involved in a model aircraft endeavor and if we all united like one we might have alot more pull with anyone on anything trying to take some of our privelidges or rights away . I think in this day and age we should try harder to all play pretty and get along as it might become a very important issue one of these days very soon.
Sorry for the rant it is just it seems like every site I go to any more is just one group pitted against the other and it doesnt make since to me . Dont get me wrong I am not a pansie ass crybaby I will be the first one to speak my mind but we have to get along I think there is room for all of us to fly our models and enjoy the entire hobby.

Poor Jim.... Getting his arse handed to him even here...

Jim, why do you have to come over here and complain about something on another site? Sorry man but grow up.

So you know Helifreak and Mark actually have a good relationship now based on things as they are today. I am actually somewhat a friend of Mark's now and I think we understand each other way better than before. We see things differently than we did a few years ago and there is a good "understanding" now. I am pretty sure Mark would agree.

Yes this is Finless Bob posting this.... I just hate to see someone spreading hate in the hobby across sites when it is just not needed. Jim should have kept this on the home turf where it started.

Jim... sorry man but as a Vice President of a major OC flying site, I have to ask what you are trying to achieve by posting this? This is not something a leader of a community should be doing and certainly not something Helifreak, and I am sure Mark would think was productive?

Bob

I can't understand why someone would go out of their way to start a thread like this, if you don't like HF then don't go there.

Too many people with too many agenda's.

I agree with Mr finless 100%.

but just to throw another log in the fire, I visit the freaks and RR but live at the Spot.

and IMO all 3 sites are Instrumental in helping a noob fly, which is what its all about.

I've flown with folks from all 3 sites, and we all have a great thing in common,

we love to fly!!

I certainly was in the right! .....( toecutter at the spot) Phalanxman 6
