I have been flying my stretched Razor for several months with no problems (except dumb thumbs) so I thought I would post the info on the required changes and parts list. The main reason I stretched it was for the challenge of the mods (I can't leave anything the way it was bought) and because I had a stash of 710 mm blades from my gasser.
Please excuse the hand scribbled notes on ratio change.
I don't do any 3D, mostly amateur aerial shots.
I am using 10S (2X5S) 5000 mah lipos so I had to also widen the battery compartment to accommodate the slightly larger batteries.

Belts and pulleys were purchased from Stock Drive Products.

https://sdp-si.com/eStore/Direct.asp?GroupID=342
.
NOTE: the parts list calls out a 76 tooth belt but should be a 74 tooth belt, part # A6R23M074090. A 76 will work but the motor mount holes may need to be moved forward.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Just wanted to say thanks again for the help on this Paul. My Razor is stretched and using my Stratus's rotor head, was easier to just move the whole thing over than change the flybar carrier and blade grips. Going to try to get my 1 piece Tempest head going on the Stratus this week.

My quick and dirty mod steps:

I cut about 7mm off a stock stratus boom.

I used the belt Paul listed in his original thread.

https://sdp-si.com/eStore/Direct.asp?GroupID=342
Part # A 6R23M668060

I tried the added belt tensioner mod that some use, but that just added vibrations until I removed it. I am spinning about 2150 on headspeed so not too worried, will try it again when I get the chance though.

I added a Quick UK metal tail boom clamp, and stratus tail boom braces. Had to drill out the holes in the rear frame to match bolt sizes.

Stuck on some tail blades from a Stratus, still need to get a longer tail vertical fin, but I just take off nose down for now.

I replaced all 2mm head links with 3mm head links for beefness factor.

I have about 10 flights on it, no problems with the belt, the stretch was probably 5-6 inches.

It flies like a lighter stratus, the rotor head makes the neatest noises!

Will post pics and video if anyone is curious.

I forget what the hell ratio I am running, totally forget, prolly around 11 and change to 1, will count teeth when I get bored, too busy just flying it when its charged!

The next step for this puppy is to lose the flybar, maybe mid season if all goes well.

Thanks again, can't believe how much less there was to do as opposed to a TT conversion.

Yes, do that when you get time.

OK I have some rather bad pictures, will try to get video and better pics this weekend. Headed up to a friends in upstate NY so will try to get something going there.

This shows what got chopped off the stock Stratus boom.

Fuzzy picture (blame my buddys camera) of the Razor and a Stratus, head button to head button:

The rotor head that was on the Stratus is now on the Razor so it's got the 5mm bolt holes and 710mm main blades.

From the Front:

Picture showing stock Razor boom to get a rough look at the stretch.

Promise to get better pics if the sun is out this weekend!

Cheers

OK I have some video of the heli in action. Sorry the conditions were horrible last weekend, went up to the Ithaca, NY area to visit a friend and hang out.

It was cloudy, windy, cold, snowing while we filmed, then it hailed on us as we packed it up! Never mind the 60's and sunny on the other weekends up there.

Regardless here's me and Art hitting up the Razor, will beat on it harder the longer it makes it with this mod! Was Art's first flight on it so things were kept chilled out. Better safe than hurt bad or worse.

Watch at YouTube

Thanks Mark for the video and again Paul for providing all I needed for this puppy.

Great flying. I have now seen how well a stretched Razor can perform. Thanks for the pics and vid.

and that thing is a TON more capable. it was the first flight on it for me and was freezing outside, so i was really worried it might blow up, lol (especially since its not mine). We will beat the piss out of it at helifun in a few weeks and get some vids of what it is really capable of
