Ok I just read alot of stuff on tail blowout on this 450 trex and all im coming up with is I need to swap the stock tail rod for a carbon one. I have a 9257 with a 520 gyro and a Scorpian 2221-8 and the stock ESC but my packs arent the greatest .So whatcha guys think about that carbon tail rod? Should I? Thanks Pals

I got rid of the 2 plastic thingees which mount on the tail boom. Instead, I encased the metal tail pushrod in a carbon tube with some CA to hold it in place. I think it is much better. It certainly has less friction.

reducing the flex that the wire push rod has is going to help and alot of people have had great luck with it. but i have never had a tail blow out issue with my 450 pro even when im trying to get it to blow out.

My Pro has never had a tail blow out either. I'm running a Futaba GY520 with 9257.. stock pushrod. I've run the Align SP Motor but currently running the Scorpion -8.

Full speed sideways loops.. no problem.

ok NQNA is running exactly what I am unless hes not using the stock ESC and i guess he means 2221-8 motor. at this point all I can think to do is tach my HS to make sure all is good there and get a brand new battery and thats it im done with it

Ya it's the Scorpion HKII-2221-8 but moving to an OUTRAGE EPT XL 1700KV as soon as my 6S 1300 mah batteries are delivered. Then I will need to use an Ice 50 ESC on the 22.2 volts.

No need for ANY upgrades on this heli, tail is solid even with the stock gyro and 520 tail servo. Your issue is headspeed by the sounds of it. Myself and many others run 100% flat in idle up, you should be seeing around 3600rpm with good packs.

If your stock metal tail rod is flexing it is either out of line, bent or you have serious binding somewhere.

I have recently put a set of mini titan tail blades on my Pro, holding power and piro consistancy are better than the stock blades, they are also about 3mm shorter so give better ground clearance which may save those expensive bevel gears! They are also white which means they are far more visable than the stock black ones.
