Hi All

I had to replace the tail rotor after an "loveaffair" with a tree.
The parts were genuine Raptor parts grips, only two bearings that do not fit into grips. That caused the problem, in my opinion, the sliding of the tail rotors to be stiff and resulting the tail servo to overheat. Those parts decsribed are the only genuine parts available in South Africa. What did I do wrong?

Regards

Seefheli

what do you mean when you say that the bearings do not fit into the grips? The way I see it those grip halves wouldnt be able to close if the bearings were too big (because they seat into the plastic grip halves).

If you disconnect your tail pitch slider from the TR servo pushrod you should be able to move that thing very easily, but it takes some attention to detail to get it silky smooth but not sloppy.

Hi Chris

Thanks for your reply. It is rather difficult to explain. I fitted Tail Grips PV0148, with Tail Shaft Bearing PV0059 onto Tail Rotor Grip PV0151 and found the movement to be very tight. I tried agaain with the same results. The tial became unstable and swinged to the right. The plastic Grips do not close over the large bearing. I really tightened the screws to the max.The tail slide is still too tight.
when I built the heli with the four bearings it was smooth and up an running in no time, now I batteled for two days without any success.

Thanks
Seefheli

Those are the wrong bearings - You need PV0200 or better PV0526.

Also I would suggest replacing the PV0151 with PV0499.
