Hello
i am flying a stretched 6003D into a 700. i would also like a smaller bird to fly in my back yard. i fly the 700 on 2 5cell hyperion 4200mah G3 cells. is there a set up for a logo 500 that will fly well on 5 lipos? id like to be able to use the same batteries for both birds. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Ben

Don't know how big you backyard is but the Logo 500 swings 560mm blades. Not a suitable backyard flyer Also the Logo 500 is best suited for 6s 5000 packs....it will fly on 5s just not optimal..........Ron

In theory it can be done. Since the voltage of the pack is less, just get a higher kv motor to suit the available gear ratios, an ESC that will handle the higher amp draw of a lower voltage system, and success...in theory (-:

But one thing working against you that you can't get around is your 4200 mah pack capacity. Most using 6S systems on the Logo 500 consider the 5000 mah pack the standard, and use between 3500-4000 mah per flight (come-on give me a break here...I know some use less per flight, but this is an EXAMPLE, OK (-.

With the 4200 mah pack, you're going to be able to use a little over 3000 mah per flight without breaking the 80% rule. And with the higher amp draw of the lower voltage system, your flights will be VERY short )-:

A better solution if you really want to fly both a Logo 700 and Logo 500 on the same batteries, is to go 12S on the 700, and 6S on the 500. But some $$$ would be involved to do that, so...

I fly a Logo 5003d on 5s5350, Hacker A40-10L-8ET, Hacker X80 on a 15 tooth 0.7mod pinion with great results.

10 minute flights using around 3700MAh and low temps, head speed between 2000-2100rpm and capable of flips inverted and aerobatic.

To describe this as not optimal is to not consider the aim and purpose of the setup.

3d go 6s

Sport/Aeros 5s

Don't get sucked in by the 3d crowd unless thats your style.
