I just finished assembling the swashplate for the Stratus. Upon placing the swashplate on the main shaft, I noticed that it almost had to be pressed on. It does not slide up and down freely on the main shaft. I had to use a gear puller to remove it from the shaft!!!!

Has anyone had a similar problem? Suggestions??

Something is wrong with either your main shaft or your swashplate. It should slide on and off easily.

Send the swash and main shaft to MA and they will fix the problem for you.

Stratus Swashplate
I just noticed that the swash look nothing like the swash in the manual or on line. That may be the problem. The other problem I have is with the fuel tank. I can place the grommet on the underside of the fuel tank, but it will sit flush with the bottom of the frame. The recessed hole that it should fit into is on the underside of the frame. I could take it apart turn it over, but then the recessed holes for the rear skid mounts are not recessed.

That looks like the correct swash to me.

MA had done a lot of mods to the Stratus recently with the introduction of the Bobby Watts model. I'm not sure if it has something to do with your fuel tank not fitting .

Tank
Im not sure what your problem is with your tank.

The included grommet goes into the hole in the
center of the fuel tank area on the lower frame
plate.
The positioning tab on the bottom of the fuel tank
will seat into this grommet.

Here is some pictures from the Stratus manual

Did the main shaft fit in the bearings? I have had main shafts that needed polished to make them fit well. If all else just call heliwholesaler they will take good care of you. Tom

The bearings did fit on the main shaft - I am assuming that it must be the swash.

It is the main shaft. Just polish the main shaft a little and it will slide on. It is not your swash.

My bearings fit perfectly onto the main shaft, and then my swash slid perfectly onto the main shaft.

I think the hole in your swash is too small.

I'm glad to see that MA has changed the design of the swash. Their older swash was a pain to get ball link pliers into.

You're right. It is more open isn't it? I didn't notice that until you pointed it out.

swashplate for the Stratus.
The MA main shaft comes with a protective coating. You need to remove it with some alcohol and or some light sand paper. I normally put the shaft in my drill and spin it with the alcohol or sand paper.
