Well I pulled the trigger and installed the 3G on my 700N. All went very well with the first three flights on Saturday. In flight the heli did not show any signs of oscllation in forward or sideways flight. It flew rather well but felt like close to when it had a flybar.

My question is I used a swash tool and set up my swash in the Dir mode dead nut on. In a hover I had to add trim to keep her in place. Not allot but prior to switching I did not have to use it so I dont think it is a CG issue. It was moving left and also forward. Even after trimming her out it felt no different that when it had a flybar. I thought the gyro was to keep it almost hands off in a hover. I did not mess with the gain for the elevator or aileron. They are both at 12 o clock.

The instructions say to adjust gains if the bird oscillates in flight witch it did not. Do I also use it if it skates in a hover.

In flight I did not notice a big difference after going flybarless so I had a buddy fly it and he also did not feel a big difference either. It did perform well in flips and rolls.

I have read that most guys are running the gains around 9 o clock. Will this make the bird feel more "locked in" as the system should? or am I just expecting the unit to do more then it does.

The CG will really help to hold it in place. With the gains I've run between 11 and 9 position on both and the higher the gain the more locked in it will feel. The trade off is when you start doing 3d you will get a wobble with the higher gains. Mine will hold its position with hands off for a while but it will still drift over time. Its not an auto pilot. It does tend to feel more like a flybar system to me vs the VBar. I had a chance to fly a VBar this weekend and they are two completely different systems. The VBar really holds a hover well but IMO I did not care for the way it flew. I think once Align gives us the update for the 3G I will be 100% happy with the system. I have the 3G on my 700 all the way down to the 450pro so if theres more info I can help with let me know.

Thanks CKD

If my gains are set at or about 12 o clock (factory settings) and if I move them to lets say around 10. That would be lowering the gains. Correct?

The higher the gain the more holding same as our tail gyros? Till the heli gets unstable then you back them down a bit.

So in my case I want to go clockwise.

correct. Just like the gyro. You can play with them and see how you like it for your style. The heli isn't going to go crazy if you go from 12 to 9 so see what you fits you. I noticed with tic tocs and FF or big loops with the higher gain you will start to see a wobble. I also don't have them set the same. I think elev. is a little higher than ael. Bert K. said he like 9 o'clock but when I was at the Vegas Fun Fly I noticed Alan was running more around 11
