I sent my 20 ei engine to Wally to modify it and I can say only good thing about it ! I would take this oportunity to thank Wally for the work he did ! It took a bit long to do it as he was still in the process of getting the new gaskets and testing the engine as he did not want to send me the engine before he is 100 percent sure that it was right as it is quite expensive and takes time to ship it from Bosnia to USA and then back ! Anyway it was the winter here and I told him to take the time and to send it to me when he thinks that he is ready !
Now I am in the process of running the engine in (put a litre of gasoline through it ).
All I can say at the moment that the engine is very quiet and vibration free, his gaskets are excellent and there is zero leakage which was not the case with original gaskets!
I am using this engine on my T Rex gasser and the GR is 6.29 ! Wally said that the optimum GR should be 6.4 , so I am very close to it !
It is a bit more difficult to pull the pull start as the compression is higher but it is very easy to start it and there are no problems !
As far as the heating is concerned there are no problems with over heating, I did not measure the temperature but I can put a finger on the crankcase and keep it for a few seconds.
I use predator gasser cooling system on this heli ( shroud and fan ).
The next time I go flying I will measure the temps of the head and I will let you know !
