GP 780 delay
Good Evening all.
I have a question on this pile named the GP780. I am wanting to set the delay to zero. It is on a 600 so to the right and the green light is on. If you go to the delay setting and then hold it all the way right the delay light and the status light flashes. This is where my manual that came with the bird shows to be zero delay. Others show to go green and then return the stick to center? Anyone figured out the difference? Where is zero really???

You want to barely move the stick to the right, just so the green light turns on to set it to the larger heli setting. The more you deflect the stick, the more delay you will have. I usually program it twice if I have to change the size setting. Set it once to get the right light (red or green) then set it again so i know there is no delay.RIP Roman

I always get confused on settingthe amount of delay. If I want to verify there is not delay in it. They tell you to move the still until the light flashes, but you may be moving the stick a 1/3 of its travel for the light to start flashing, then hit the button before releasing the stick back to center. I avoid touching the delay because I am not confident I can put it back to zero. I wish it were a little clearer, or I was a little less dense.

0% Delay = Stick in middle 100% Delay= Stick full deflected either R or L. If you set the size (ie change the light color, no flashing, just change the color. return stick to center, then push the set button again, will give you 0%delay. If you go through the process one more time, when you get to delay, the size will be set already so you dont need to move the stick at all. When you push the button it will guarantee you are at 0% delay. If using any rudder servo ie 650,620, 9254,9253,8900 so forth you want 0 delay.RIP Roman

But in the instructions, they tell you to move the stick until the light flashes, and that is 0 deley. Your saying do not touch the stick and press the button, and that the delay will then be 0, even though the light was not flashing?
Just want to make sure I understand this 100%, (goes back to that dense thing)

What manual is this in?

These are the GP780 instructions and they are indentical to how the GP750 was programmed, nothing changed in that aspect.

Dang if it dont, but it also says middle stick = 0%, and thats the way I've been setting mine up for the year plus of using the 780/750. Dont remember the light flashing though during setup.RIP Roman

I was reading the 3G setup. I was told the setup on the 780 was the same. It tells you to slowly move the stick until the light flashes, that is 0 delay. I helped with a couple 780's that you needed to move the stick to get the light to flash (supposed to be 0 at that point. Also would like to confirm, you need to hold the stick in that position while pressing the button to set it.

I'm going to double check but the 750, 780, and 3G should all be identical and as far as I know, its mid stick is 0%. Soon as those lazy bones in CA drag their butts to work I'll double check.RIP Roman

I have tested the Heli both ways and really see no difference. The reason I ask is if I do a hard punchout (rex 600esp on 8s Scorp 4025-890 CCice 100 Gov @ 2050) The tail kick hard about 3 to 4 inches... gain is set to 81. Any higher and she wags fast....

Just a suggestion try increasing your mechanical gain by moving the ball out one hole on the servo arm. Reset your travel stops and set your gain initially @ 72. See if that helps your problem there.
