question
ok so basically i just finished building a 8s 600 esp but ask anybody i know and i sell off helis fast because im never really satisfied with the heli... well i think the reason is i love small engines and really miss nitro, but i dont miss buying nitro... i kinda want to sell the 600 and get another nitro but dont want to buy gas for a 600 or 700 size... leads me to looking at a 500 nitro but by the time i get an esp with electronics and the 400 buck conversion its almost a grand and its a smaller heli that doesnt handle wind as well so i wasnt to sold on that idea... then i got to lookin and the 550 looks pretty nice frames to convert them over... im thinking if it had a 600 tank and os50 hyper it would get pretty good fuel consumption to power and maybe get really long flight times...

2 problems, no cnc machine and im thinking if i have to gear down the hyper it might not have as much power... has anybody else though about doing this?

1. A T600 with 8s and scorpion has much more power than a 50 nitro and with the cost of Nitro going up and the cost of LiPo (Turnigy) getting so low I have almost given up on nitro myself. A T600 with 8s should be a keeper.

2. Looking back at all the nitro helicopters I have had the one that I liked best had an OS 70 on it. If you let a 700N and put on an OS70 you will have much longer flight times. If you want about the same power as a 90 with less fuel consumption gear it in the 9.0 to 9.5 range.

3. If you want to experiment it’s much more fun to convert to flybarless than to fly Nitro helicopters.

well ya prices are going up on nitro which lead me to the t500n because you can get 6-7 min 3d flights and 20 flights per gallon, the money i would save from selling my 600 and getting one of those would pay for gas for 2 years or like 700 flights... but then i have a smaller helicopter... i though about a 600 gasser but i cant find videos of people doing any 3d which leads me to believe you cant put a big enough engine in them for 3d power... im just mad cause i might only get 4 min of flight per battery on my 600 and i only have 5 so who knows i might stay with it lol

ya i decided its not worth the trouble trying to switch back or anything... i think im just gonna get an extra set or two of the 3600 packs to pick up the extra flight time i would like...
