How often to rebuild?
I just rebuilt my raptor 50 titan this winter. I installed new bearings and links everywere. I also replaced the dampners "red" and the belt which was worn. I have heard that you are supposed to replace the dampners every 50 flights. Well, I have over 50 flights and 6 gallons of fuel through this machine already this year. It still flys good, but I have noticed the head has a little more slop in it that when it was a fresh rebuild. (only 6 weeks ago). Do I really have to replace the dampners this often? What else is recommended to replace? Keep in mind that I fly this helicopter very hard. Very hard!

Damper life really depends on how hard you fly. For sport flying they might last 200 flights but for extreme 3D they might last only 20 flights.

Since you fly very hard take them out after 20 flights and see how they look.

I go though both of my machines every winter. I tear them all the way down to kit form and grease all the bearings with "the Greaser".

I replace any notchy bearings as well as the dampners or dampner O rings, replace the clunk lines in the tanks, and any worn parts. Every part is inspected and evaluated before being reused.

I like to start each season with a newly built machines.

If you can find a set of these they'll last longer as long as you don't crash and break them.

Also can get a set of Ely.Q Dampers. They are quite a bit stiffer than Raptor Red dampers, almost like hard plastic.

I've never worn out a set of pulleys either. I did shred a set of the front red pulleys once but that was because the tail boom was sitting slightly down pushing the belt against the bottom lip of the pulleys. Set the tail boom in with a slight amount of up pressure and those pulleys should last longer than the rest of the heli.
