Here is the battery versus nitro math.

My TRex 600 cost me $3 a flight. That is $30 a gallon of full with ten flights out of it.

My Logo 600 battery cost me $300. After 100 flights that is $3 per flight. I am still flying the batteries after 100 flights, so the cost per flight keep dropping. I get 6+ minutes on my logo 600.

So to me the cost is a wash. Batteries is like buying your full up front.

Another issue with large electrics and pro demo pilots is that you cannot take the larger batteries on board an airline. When travelling to fun fies (not driving) you have to ship your batteries ahead of time.
True Mark, however something also to note for you Nitro guys who travel, your tank and lines must be completely CLEAN AND EMPTY! A friend who was coming from Vegas funfly had to leave his heli there as there were traces of fuel in his tank and lines and they said NO GO. So nitro dudes, ensure 100% everything is spotless and empty and NO smell or the airline gaylords will in fact tell you as well NO GO.
Girls are more attracted to guys who fly nitro helis!
Nah, lol once they get in close to the smell of that on the dude it's like the cowboy with the cowpoop on his heels, the gals skiff away pretty promptly.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

yeh! Nitro has its spot and yeh! seams like all the top pilots like there big loud piston poppers, for me! electrics is good because I buy my fuel all at once! yeh! its a chunk of change! another reason is cost, I have to pay $6.50 just for a gallon of gas here in this remote village, cost 70 bucks to fill my tank in my YJ jeep,
500 miles to the nearest HS by jet! a gallon of fuel for a nitro machine is around 100 bucks , which its better to pay for a case , hazmat for the cargo plane is around 75 to 100 bucks . just not worth it. plus, clean fun! plug and play. can here the blades talk. and the whine like a jet engine. YEH!!!

Wife solves debate
I have both electric and nitro helis. I asked my wife she says girls prefer electric.

Transcript:
me: so, do girls prefer nitro or electric?
wife: ummm...electric
wife: why

Why do they always have to ask why?

I fly both, but this comment makes me smile:
Burning nitro smells soooo much better than a burning li-po.

My wife got sick of me fogging up the lot next to my house with nitro smoke. So, I got a 600esp out of the debate. The wife prefers electric. I'll still fly the nitros for a while, but most of my flight time will be electrics from here on out.

Lipo smoke vs. Nitro smoke
Lets' say you live near a nice warm beach area with a cruising street. During the day there are lots of nice tanned beauties with all the right curves, bikinis, sandals, oiled up to perfection, broad white smiles walking along that strip of beach and in the evening same beauties with long legs, short skirts, tube tops, high heels. You have a choice, cruise that strip in your PRIUS,Eco friendly hybrid or your pop-top CAMARO, or SALEEN MUSTANG. Which one are you going to drive? It's just like the animal kingdom, loud flashy animals get all the best mates and attention, all the others step into the snare traps, get eaten or fly into the bug zapper.

Hey here is my "worm"! Just go gas!!! Just teasing I know it is an E vs N thing here. Well I love helis all together but as a buzz sound kinda fella I will saaaaaay that if I could afford it I would predominantly use electric over nitro but not totally get out of nitro. I have a swift and am about to get a battery or two for it and get going again, the power is awesome with electric. But being old school here too, nitro runs in my veins as well. It is a hard choice to make .

There is no such thing as up, it's all out...

Or you could go down in your brushless, lipo powered sports car and give them a ride of their lives which they wouldn't forget .

Besides, helis make cooler sounds than road noise, such as blade farts, which you can hear better with electric power.
