How do we flood an engine?
hi guys!

Too many time I flood my engine. Piston chamber gets full of fuel, I have to remove the glow plug and so on.

The whorst think is I don't even know what I do wrong! So, what I am doing wrong to always flood my engine?

Thank you and happy Easter!

what do u mean by engine flood... Was it :
1. After flying and leaving it overnight.
2. Just b4 starting engine.
3. What needle setting r u using 50 or 90.
4. Did u clamp the fuel line to the carb,
while refueling ur tank.
5. Did u clamp ur fuel line to shut the the engine.

This is what u can do:
1. Clamp ur fuel line while refueling.
2. Make sure ur exaust pipe was not close.
3. Clamp ur fuel to shut the engine off.
4. Restart ur engine with no fuel in the tank just to make sure that ur engine got no more fuel inside the crank case.
5. Before starting ur engine next day try to prime ur engine once just to make sure its is ease to start.
6. Get a good hi torq starter ie: align starter.
7. do not idle ur engine too long coz it could flood ur engine.
8. If u still at break in stage for sure u running it rich... and for a long idle it for sure will flood ur engine up.. But try to lean the needle gradually and the problem will stop after u got the engine in proper tuning.

Thank you!

It is while refuling and before starting my engine. I don't use a clamp but a T filter with a valve on it (sorry I don't know how its called in english, it is a filter with a little arm and you select the direction the fuel goes). But I'll use a clamp not for sure! It is on NovaRossi 57 but I did it also with my Redline.
7. do not idle ur engine too long coz it could flood ur engine.
Realy??

If u idle the engine too long u can see some sputtering oil came out from ur exaust thats mean that lots of unburn fuel while idle. Plus if u didnt start and make sure there was no fuel in engine crank case right after day flying session u will experince this flood the next day of flying session.Trex 600,700 AND 450, GY611, GY401, OS5H, OS91HZ, MGP, HS65HB, Scorpion 2221-8,

Line Clamp
Make sure you have a clamp on your fuel line, between the fuel fill and carburetor.
Only open the clamp after your Glow plug is on. Use the same clamp to shut off the engine and you will be good.
