Furion/ Gy520 Help!
Hey Guys,

I am stuggling to figure out what is happening and was hoping someone could shed some light on it.

Here is the scenerio:

I have been flying my furion for well over 200 flights with a gy401/9257. Recently i switched to a 520 and have nothing but problems with the high headspeeds that the MA 6 motor is capable of. The gyro gets eratic with the idle up headspeed and drifts uncontrollably. If you lower the headspeed then all seems to dissapear.

I have tried all mounting pads, including the metal plate combination, set it up in normal (rate mode) via adjusting the linkage to stop drift and find center, and rotated the gyro 90 degrees in accordance to Bobby Watts and Futaba.

FYI- No visible shakes are present anywhere and tracking is dead on.

If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

BTW- I am building a Fury 55 and loving it so far! :-)

With a single 2mm foam pad I had hunting issues very often in flight with the GY-520 in my Furion.

I now use the 3mm foam pad at the bottom, plus shield plate, plus a 2mm foam pad with no issues. Tail holds great. I've read that the 520 is very sensitive and really benefits from the added foam dampening. It sure was the case with mine. My headspeed in somewhere in the 3100 rpm range, how high is yours?
