New motor for the L600?
I've been running a Scorpion 4035-560kv on 10s through a Jive 80HV for a couple years now, and it has worked very well. I've had to replace the shaft and bearings a couple times, but that's not a big deal. My only complaint is that the metal is relatively soft. I've stripped two of the mounting bolt holes. So, I need a new motor.

I'm happy enough with the Scorpion motor to just get another one but, I'm wondering if there isn't something else worth trying.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Why don't you just change the part that holds the screws?Team Synergy, Rail blades, Team Scorpion, V-Team

I jsu bought a logo 600 and I got the jive 120 and the PIRO700 520. Suppose to be a little better then the limited edition scorpion 4025*****. Don't know still working on the build but you may want to look into the motor. I have read alot of good things about it. Good luc in your quest.heliman

Maybe take a look at the Kontronik Pyro motors, they look veryyy sweet indeed.

As for the Scorpion motor stripping, I and others have done the same, you can't get replacement but I remember someone saying on another forum that you can have money (something like 50%) off a replacement one.

If you just strip it you can turn it 90 degrees like I did (thank god) but that only works once lol.

These motors don't need that much torque to hold them in at all.

Is it not possible on this motor to drill and tap it for 4mm?

Just had this happen to my 4035-560....there is no replacement part. I live by innovative, so I went by and got a new motor for 50% off. They said that there are two options, buy a new one for 50% off, or carefully retap the holes to 4mm.

I did that last time!

The Pyro does look interesting. I have been a big fan of Kontroniks stuff for a while but, I've already given them about $3k - no joke!

I've never used Hacker or Xera motors but I've heard good things about both. As stated, I've been very happy with Scorpion motors. They get hot and they are not the most efficient but, they make great power. I had to switch to the mod 1 main gear after stripping two of the .7's in flight. I never had that issue with any of the Tango motors. I am not complaining about that though!

I have an email in to Lucien. We'll have to see what happens.

Thanks for the info guys.

Peace out!!!

4mm
I tapped out a few of my Scorpion 4035's for 4mm...it's easy and works fine..

I've tried quite a few different motors and honestly...the Scorpion 4035 is the best overall for me..

Especially for the cost...

How fresh are your Packs (?)
Does the 50% replacement coverage give you the option of choosing one of the other motors (?) or "only" in the same-series (?)
If a different-series is OK (never hurts to ask),
I'd give the 4225-610LE a try
