Getting back to the sloppy tail in general... Does anyone besides Microheli build a decent set of grips/hub/bearing set for the 250? I'd rather castrate myself with a wooden spoon than buy another thing from those thieving bastards. (IMHO)

The two options for the sloppy tail are either to buy the MicroHeli set or go over to HF and PM Heim Joint and get one of his spacer sets. I searched diligently for another solution, and there appears to be no other options. The Heim Joint spacers are working pretty good for me now, and it was a cheap fix too.

Maybe Align will someday offer a torque tube tail, or some other manufacturer will make a better tail that fits correctly, but for now this is as good as it gets.

I cant stop my tail from wagging.
If I dial down the gyro, it just waggs slower.
I have been reading that the Micro-Heli tail set is the cure, along with a different Gyro. I have an extra HSG5084 Tail servo, so I will throw that in there, but is there still problems with the arms on the Micro-heli stuff ??

On my SE, I took the microheli tail grips back off. Just make sure everything is moving nice n smooth and get a bigger better servo....

I was hoping to post good things about he MicroHeli tail set tonight, but sadly, not(MicroHeli Bell Crank/Tail Pitch Slider Combo-TREX 250- MH-2142).

After getting it all ot the packet, firstly, one of the brass sleeves are missing (MH-TX2193LS) and secondly the tail pitch slider will not fit onto the tail rotor shaft, the hole in the pitch slider is way too small.

It's on it's way back.

Agreed.

Is there an upgrade to the Align tail pitch slider to do away with the plastic ball?

Not from align, at least not yet.... They just came out with the Metal Bearing mount for the pitch slider on the bigger models, but no 250 yet.
I'm running all stock back there and its working fine for me, did yours not fit right or wear?

Heim Joint
What is the best way to get in touch with Heim Joint? I'd like to try the spacers first and see if that helps.

Make sure you insure that for full coverage when you send it back to Microheli. I sent a Trex 450 tail back to them with delivery confirmation; it was picked up by Microheli and confirmed. I never saw it or my refund and they simply stopped answering my emails and PM's. I had to go through the USPS to get my money out of it. They are nothing but crooks in my opinion...

Yep. I had the same problem and had to return it.

To get in contact with Heim Joint, go over to HF and there is a similar thread about the 250 tail. You can PM him. It took him about 2 weeks to respond to my email, so be patient.

Luckily I'm in the UK and I shall just post it back to my dealer. I think I'll just get a credit and get other shiny bits.

Is the SE tail hub / grips any better than the single bearing grips on the earlier 250?

The SE tail hub/grips have a single bearing as well. At least mine did. It was very sloppy (until I got some of HJ spacers).

I bought mine a few weeks before the SE came out and it was supposed to have a tail upgrade, (note in box) so perhaps this is the same as the SE.

The SE grips have big Chinese weights on the side. The V2 (non SE) grips have small Chinese weights. The V1 grips did not have any weights on the side. As far as I know, they all have a single bearing.

I just installed the MH tail assy.
The shaft did fit, but it MUST be aligned perfectly. There is NO room for sloppiness back there. Its easy to mis-align that tight fitting SOB of a hub. I needed to lube up everything real well for the assembly, work everything loose after it went together, then blow off the excess oil with compressed air. After setting up the GP780 and the HSG-5084MG, I have the gain(s) set to about 15 and 85.

The tail is as locked as my 450 now !!!!
ZERO slop anywhere in that tail !!!!!
I am on my 9th or 10th battery with the MH tail, and it is a totally different machine now..........much better and WAY more fun !!!
