New Logo 500 question
Flew my new Logo 500 today first time. Flew like a dream, didn't have to adjust anything. Still like my nitro but geesh, should have tried this a long time ago. I guess vbar is next lol. Big thanks to dahld for answering some questions! I flew for 4 mins. 30 sec. When done I charged back to capacity and it put 2107 mah back in. I have a 5000mah, 35c 6s turnigy. What am I shooting for per flight as far a mah used? Thx for any help.

Hey, congrats on the 500! I have the 500se myself, and in 5 minutes i put 2630 back in.
The consensus is to use about 80% of the capacity so all cells stay nice high in voltage. So for 5000's, putting back 4000 is ok.
Which means you can do 8 minute flights... And that's not bad for a sparky

Right, after you install the V-Bar you will spend hundreds to install it in all your helis.

I'm flying my Logo 500Se with 550 blades ans 890KV motor on 8S 4200 and after 6.5 minutes I'm putting back 2300. My head speed is 1940 at idle up 1 and 2160 at idle up 2.

Thx guys, thats exactly info I was looking for. That first flight was just the maiden so I was only running at 65%. Will crank it up tommorrow and let it rip. Guess I am looking for a 2150 hs or so.

I run my Logo 500 FBL with a headspeed of 2320rpm, but I am doing 3D, so if your doing sport flying, you can keep your headspeed at 2150 and that will be fine. When you crank up the headspeed, it really moves. I usually get about 5min of flight and I generally put back about 3800 to 4000mAh.When u don't feel like soaring through the air with a plane, beat it into submission w/ a heli!

How the HECK are you guys getting flight times like that?

I can burn through 900mah a minute on my logo 500..

I set my timer for 4 1/2 minutes and I eat just a hair under 4000mah

I use to be the one at the field making fun of electrics lol. Now I need to eat some major crow. I did get a static hit today. Has to be as I can't find anything else wrong. I lost the tail, was able to hit throttle hold and get it down with minor damage. I had not done any of the mods for static discharge yet. Guess I will take it more serious now.

Jag 72,
you must be referring to the other guys getting 6.5 or more, because my 5mins is usually pushing it. I set my timer for 4:50 and have it on the ground by 5min. Sometimes I am putting back 4000mAh, but usually around 3900mAh. Some flights I pushed it so hard I had put back 4100 to 4200mAh, but that only happened twice. I monitor more carefully now. I wish I could get 6.5 mins or more. I take it the guys getting that are doing sport flying and nothing else major.

Is the 4025 a sigificantly greater mAh hog than the 4020? This appears to be a big discrepancy from what I read above.

Anyone have data with just sport flying on the 4025 for flight duration?

Also, can mild 3D be performed with the 4020 without issue?

My setup is a FBL Logo 500 with a Neu 1910/1Y motor and a Jive 80+ ESC.

I have my timer set for 6 minutes and usually end up flying for about 6.5. I typically put back somewhere around 3300mAh into a 6S 5000 pack. This is doing sport flying with lots of rolls, flips, and big power loops with full-collective climbs.

I get the impression that the Neu is less power hungry than the Scorpion 4020, which would go a long way toward explaining my long flight times, apart from the fact that I don't "throw it around" like some people do.

The Scorpion 4020 can be used for hard 3D with ~550mm main blades.
