need help, setup issue. Logo 500SE with V-Bar
I just built a Logo 500SE and the heli flies well, except when I do pyros the tail seems to fall of and the pyro feels weird. With hard collective punchout, the heli doen't climb straight. The heli is well balanced.

What could cause this problem? I'm thinking the swashplate gyro gain. It is only set at 40. Does it needs to be higher?

Thank you!

The heli is either not balanced or the swash is not level.

If you do both perfectly then the heli will fly very true without even a trim flight.

in addition to what jphilli says,

it can also be vibrations, like bad tracking is enough.

For that size heli did you start with the Logo 600 preset? You should, 40 is far to low of gain, but is not your problem. If you did not start with a preset it would help you allot to get you to where you need very quick in regards to feel and performance etc......Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I was going to say that Stet, but you beat me to it, I saw that in one of MrMel's videos and I made sure it was compensating the right way when I set up my Henseliet, and it punched out yesterday on its maiden flight straight as an arrow, it was locked in big time and just had to lower the tail gain to 68 and that was it.

I rechecked the swashplate, and to my surprise, it was far from level. Funny because I adjusted it with a swash leveler. I think I know what happenned: Instead of leveling the swashplate with the levelling function in the vbar software, I manually changed the centering values in the swashplate servos menu in the software until my servo arms were 90 degrees, and then adjusted linkages until the swashplate was level. I guess I should not play with these settings, I'll have to experiment.

Flys much better now.

Thank you!

Nice! Glad to hear that you got it working.

You could have attempted to level the swash while the gyros were still active; It's easy to do. You need to start the V-bar while you're in the standard V-bar settings. Then with the V-bar on, switch to setup menu so that the gyros will be turned off. Otherwise, they creep on you messing up your adjustments.

Seems like sometimes it shows as being in setup mode, but it isn't. Maybe one of the very few bugs in V4???Max

That's because you're powering the V-bar while you're in setup mode so it never actually switches to setup mode. You need to start in the standard menu then switch.

I agree, sounds like a bug. But if you just power the V-bar in the normal menu then switch to setup, you'll be ok.

In setup mode with sticks at zero and values showing zero, I trim each servo independently for 90 then only the opt and bottom with step 5 this is not an issue, the arrows are doing the same exact thing really, so it's either or makes no difference in that respect, but the top step 5 expert and bottom must be done, otherwise you will see what you have spoken of....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
