Slightly off topic, but why would one choose to use the words "tear down" to mean "disassemble" Vegetable rights and Peace

I guess thats what I think about having to take something apart prematurely, in my opinion. When you take something apart, disassemble it, and your not really in agreement, it becomes a tear down to me, ie disgruntled.

so the words "tear down" are used as an aggressive and emotional gesticulation due to being pissed off at a QC issue in this case. American language has often confused me but this example is most illuminating in the ways in which the americans have adopted new meaning to the english language. Thanks for the insight.Vegetable rights and Peace

I wouldn't doubt this term came from some sort of Engine Rebuild Machinist, probably because it is easier and faster to take things apart than it is to put things together,, you Tear Down an Engine fast and put it back together slowly..Jim

Everytime I get a new engine for the heli, I take off the backplate to look for shavings and condition of the engine, and look thru the exhaust port with a flashlight to inspect the piston and cylinder.

Haven't seen any shavings but my last engine I brought was a OS 61 SX-H back in 2000.
Blew it in the air once from running lean, put in Performance Specialties AAC piston/cylinder combo.

Now with this news of OS engines being found with shavings along with cost of engines keeps increasing, you'd expect them to have a strict quality control prodecures and inspections...I see that on the decline...

Before I would take a cylinder head off, I need a torque screwdriver and the values for setting the cylinder head bolts.
That's why I don't take the head off often.

Do you want to STOP the shutdown process, or START the shutdown process? (says the Unix guy where halt means what it says in no uncertain terms)

Back to the topic, the only factory fault I've seen with the YS-91-SR motors is the occasionally poorly adjusted fuel regulator valve. (you know the factory adjusted one that your not supposed to adjust!)
