My field is under water...!
After about 15 inches of rain in March, the Charles River was cresting yesterday and it overflowed into out field. One of the pilots took a canoe trip around the field, and found someone's plane in the wetlands behind the tree line. Here are some videos for your entertainment:

Then I had to "play dangerously" with the water and make autos over it, here are 3 tries couldn't decide which to post so I uploaded all:

Enjoy the 'action' shots, below are some stills:

I think it would be kind of cool to have a "moat" outside your house. It would definitely keep the door-to-door salesman away.Avant RC

When I'm flying around water I think about this - happened to a guy locally around here. Local diver/rescue was asked to come find it a few hours later, heli's don't float even for 1 second.

I need to call my Dad in Del. and see how he's doing. wow, that's a lot of water.

Quit ur belly-ache-in' Raja and slap some floats on that heli and go fly!

Now you need some pics of it inverted with the blades scraping the water!

Raja,

You should have come over to Mansfield, the field there is just a bit squishy, no standing water

Got over there around 11:00 this morning, left a bit before 3:00 after having burned a few tanks of fuel in both the Spectra G and Radikal. First day I've been out at the field in just a T shirt this year, got a lot of good flying in and soaked up some sun, felt good all around
XCell Spectra G
Radikal G20
Some obsolete nitro helis too...

Thanks guys!
Will be back at the field/lake tomorrow. Spent the day today getting some errands done. You may see that heli / boat race if one of the Brazilian guys brings his 55 inch G23 gas boat! We'll see what goes tomorrow!

In 1998, I dug a 1.5 ft wide x 1.5 ft deep x 140 feet long trench all around the inside of my basement and filled it with 7.5 yards of crushed stone around 4" drainage pipe that goes to the sump pump bucket. I took me a year to do this project leisurely and I mixed up 140 bags of concrete to put the floor back. Collecting the fruits of my labor this spring while helping others clean out their wet basements. Yesterday we were yanking soaked carpets out of my neighbor's house. My pump runs like 30 minutes every 30 minutes to empty out the moat water level down by 5 inches. Its slowed down now but still running today. Its the only thing that is keeping me "low and dry" so to speak as the water table is higher than my basement floor but the pump keeps it under control until it finally recedes back down. I had to do it if I was ever going to finish my basement which I finally did last year. I feel bad for the folks that finished their basements but didn't do it, its a mess down there for them -- several houses on our street with carpet cleaning crew vans in their driveways.

If you want your feet to stay dry you could always come down to the Cape this weekend; Even the puddles are gone at my field. There are some advantages to living on a sandbar, the drainage is great.

PS - You could bring that last Stator Gator with you.
but better times are coming.......

Raja,

I had the same thing done back in the early 90's to a house we used to live in. It was during a drought season. The company need a job. They did the whole thing for $2200. Three sumps. Basement was 24 x 40. Problem solved forever.
