Main blade opinions for spectra -g
I have flown it with sabb 690s and v-blades 710 3-d smooth both seem ok and fly real well on my Ion-X2 but seem lacking on the Spectra. Maybe (probably) its just me but I want to try some new/different blades
what do you guys like or recommend

Spectra-g tempest head Hanson g-26

Thanks

I really like my Rotortech 710 Scott Grey 3D's - If you want smoother blades the Rotortech 720SG-FAI blades were my favorite - but I broke them

What kind of flying? 3D or smooth sport flying? FAI?

I got 710's Sab's and so far i like them a lot,but i don't do 3D with them But they fly around very good. The next set of blades i get will be the Mavrick 710 widecord. I have a set of 600's and i love them. I think there all tip for tap. Good Luck.

Sab blades are all good on the Spectra!

A little off topic:

I measured the bolt holes on the Tempest head versus Extreme head and found that the Tempest head bolts are further out by 35mm.

So for example a 700mm blade mounted on the Extreme head is actually equivalent to a 730mm blade mounted on a Tempest head or thereabouts. Does this logic sound right? The disc definitely is much larger on the Tempest head so this head must give 30mm more lift over the Extreme head,

That does sound right. I don't think you will want to go any bigger than 710 with the tempest head because your blade might hit the tail rotor blades.

Correct
The tempest head is a bigger disk which will result in more load on the motor and more lift for autos and such. I think its ideal for the Spectra with 710mm blades you can take up the power in the large motors and still auto great. With my 1005 I couldn't hold the biggest motors back with full collective travel and 710 blades.

FWIW I have had success running 720 Vblades matched with 110 tailblades on a Tempest head.

That is the absolute max you can run without hitting. (there is a about a 10mm gap)

Rbort is right, the bigger motors like to be loaded up more.
The motor I am running this combo with is a Zenoah 26cc, modded, with Trevor Simpson head.

I had Torsion 710's for a while on mine but it just didn't fly right with them on, fine on the 700N...

So I stuck with my old favourites and reasonably priced NHP Razor Pro 70cm blades...

Thanks for all the replies guys..

I tried a set of radix 710s and maverick 710s loaned by some guys at the field today. I put 4 flights on each but felt very little if any difference from my 710 V-blades. I am kind of disappointed as I expected more of a change. Maybe the old V-blades are just good blades and I shouldn't expect too much more. or maybe its just with that big gasser I'm expecting too much? it just flies so solid and predictable!

Probably true with that amount of weight been carried around under the blades they sure ain't going to perform the same as they do on say a Trex 700...

I have the SAB 710's on mine. The white outer 2/3rd makes for a nice visible disk. They fly great and were almost perfectly balanced when I checked them with the Koll balancer.Just another crappy day in Paradise....Aloha!
