old xcell 60 canopies
Just FYI for anyone looking. Heli Proz south just got some of the old 0497 Lexan 2pc canopies made from MA and in stock. Thought I'd share info for anyone looking to renew the look.

It's good that MA continues to produce parts for the older helicopters.Avant RC

That is cool. I was able to restore an old 1001 ST with no problem because MA still supports it. What a great smooth flying helicopter from the past too.

Yeah my MA enthusiasm was recently restored when I came acrossed a 60 custom kit that a guy assembled but never finished so it had never been flown. I bought it and finished it with him having all the parts to complete, right down to the aux fuel tank. Had the os 60 sx, hitori pipe, JR rec, DS servo's, uni clutch, carbon 690 mains, all for $500. The only thing I changed was the Revolution gyro to a 401. Smooth as glass compared to my 15+ yr old 30/46. Great to see MA getting the old parts made and starting to restock them

Justin,
Thanks for the compliment and good eye on the QWW landing gear dampers. I thought I'd try those because the frame was badly cracked at the bend near the bottom from vibration. I also reinforced the frame with frame angles from Quick's Q60 part list. They fit perfectly with just a little trimming at the front to clear the front tray.

Good to hear you like the dampers. I tried to keep it as stock as possible but I didn't want it to crack again. So I thought - why not. At the very least my tail blade won't be green anymore from hitting the grass. LOL!!

Lorenc - yeah Ron's Heliproz South has just about everything you need for these old birds. Mine is smooth as silk too. And very easy to fly.

You do know that Curtis won the World Championships back in '87 I believe with this Miniature model? He also did all of his 3D flying with one (backwards inverted with a mechanical gyro? YES!!)Team Synergy/Rail, Team Scorpion, YS Engines, VelTye

I remember reading about that. Can you post that video? There really aren't any videos of Curtis in the old days online. Thanks.
