She went in
Well my frenzy finally went in tonight. Everything appered fine for about 5 mins then the tail just started rotating uncontrollably. I hit throttle hold but the heli was knife edge and I did my best to upright the heli. Well broke the boom, the radio tray, canopy, canopy supports, flybar, spindle and landing gear. Upon observation I noticed the little pin was missing out of the tail pully. So I am guessing the loss of the pin caused the tail to start spinning. The pulley is a quick uk pulley. I have checked the manual which is about use less. Is there a way to keep the pin in for future reference.

you can put a set screw in the end of the tail shaft just use thread lock and dont tighten it to tight so you dont bend the pin in the tail pully.

Just want to make sure we are talking about the same pulley. I'm talking about the drive pulley off the main gear. Your telling me that shaft that it fits onto is threaded on the inside.Carpe Diem!!!

I have a brand new V2 50 kit that i just bought...after reading your post i checked mine. In the manual it shows a set screw holding in the pin and there is not. Its only a pin like you described...i ordered the upgraded pulley with the set screws, im not taking the chance of it letting go. There is a set screw in the tail rotor shaft, im surprised they only pinned the one off the main drive gear.

Both of my shafts are threaded. But they may have changed as my frenzy is one of the very first production kits.

Thanks for the help. I just ordered all my parts and made sure I ordered a new pulley with the set screw and of course the pin. Think I'll still put my quick uk pulley on though. Yeah I just talked to another guy I fly with that has a frenzy and same thing. No set screw in the drive pulley. He said he found the set screw in a bag of parts he has.Carpe Diem!!!

Just make sure you Loctite everything. Also make sure your gear mesh is good when you put your motor in. I would change the clutch bell out with a Raptor clutch bell. The Frenzy's clutch has some flimsy rubber lining in their clutch bell. This heli is really nice. So far I really enjoy it. Here are pics of my new canopy.

Carpe Diem!!!
