3G on a T-rex 500
Guys,

Does anyone have their sensor mounted on top of the boom case with good results?
What tape are you using there?
The supplied foam tape or is the 3M #4010 a better choice for this application.

I have the 3M #4010 tape on my 700 with the best results (rock-solid) after trying many different combinations.

I was wondering what's best tape for the 500 on the boom case.

Thanks in advance.

Mine are up top on the boom casing (500 ESP x2 and a 500CF).
One layer of the tape supplied with the unit.
Cable secured down inside of frame to 3G unit on side.
Here is my modified 500CF

I can now confirm the the #4010 tape is no good for the 500 (on the boom case anyway).

1 piece of the supplied tape works well.

Almost every heli has variations in the vibration signature, one person might run too tight gearmesh, another a out of round maingear, so "best tape" will most likely vary from heli to heli.
One set will work for most cases, but if ever in doubt (drifting etc), it's always worth trying something different.

Jim, might want to watch your Spektrum aerials, they are looking a bit beat up, might want to run something like this:

Fuel tubing over it.
