Sales Tax discussion
So I just placed an order with vendor in my own state. When I checked out it obviously charged me taxes. This could add up very quickly on larger purchases and is significant enough to keep me from ordering from vendors in my state.

This seems almost unfair, I mean all one has to do is order from someone across state lines and you save 7%.

I'm pretty sure when you do your taxes you are to fill out a section for "out of state" online orders you made so you can be taxed for them.KDS Agile 7.2/5.5 Chase 360 - SkyHero Spyder/Spy/Little Spyder

Here is an article a few months old that says People in California are SUPPOSED to report all online purchases. I am sure everyone reports EVERY PENNY..

Someday down the line the IRS will send you a copy of all the out of state purchases that you did using your credit card, and a bill for the taxes you owe + a fine.Champion,Magic,MiniBoy,Xcell60+50,Intrepid,Intrepid Gas,Baron30,Whisper,300X,mCPXv1v2,Concept,Nexus

Florida - no income tax, but plenty of property taxes.
They tried to get rid of property taxes by upping the sales tax. Actually in some ways, not a bad idea.

If your state doesn't get it in sales tax revenue they get it some other way, they have a certain amount of revenue they must collect operate. Bottom line buying out of state to save tax is like washing down a double cheeseburger with diet coke. You gonna pay one way or another. At some point the govt will make everone one of us pay.Your fun starts here!

I know someone who had a situation with the IRS. Basically they can just take the money, then you have to prove "wasn't me". Good luck with that one since it's your card and shipping address. Then the state says now about that sales tax. Your fun starts here!

good old IRS. How do you prove a negative??? How do you PROVE you didn't make something??? I never understood why they aren't held to the same standards as the justice system (you know..."innocent 'til proven guilty".
It would be so easy to enact a different tax system and get rid of the IRS that it's just a joke. I think the Gov keeps them around so that they can go after the people that the justice system can't convict and do them in the "back door way". In the meantime they crush a lot of little people. My dad dealt with them for YEARS, in the end to just have them say "we're sorry, you did nothing wrong". Sure made his lawyer a lot of money though.

I never meant for this thread to become yet another political pissing match.

IT was supposed to about how ironic it is that someone can buy cheaper heliparts just accross state lines.

That is all..
