Help with Logo 400 set up
This is the set up I’m looking at for my new Logo 400 build

Logo 400 + full size Vbar
Motor: A4-12s 8 pole
ESC: X70-SB pro
Cyclic: 9650
Tail: 9254 or BLS251 (overkill?)
Lipo: 6S 2600/3000 (from my Trex 500)

So is this set up ok, and are there any parts that definitely need upgrading from start?

Will the 9650’s drop straight in, as I have read posts that say The Futaba frame set is required?

What pinion size do I need for the above; I only do mild 3d (flips, rolls etc) and would like a reasonable flight time.
I currently get 6-7 mins from my Trex 500 on 6s with 13t pinion so I guess I’m looking for a similar head speed and flight time.

i'd go with a different esc, i had problems getting the governor to work properly on the hacker.

As far as the tail servo, i tried a 9257 and didn't have much luck, for some reason its just too small, i am currently using a 9254 for 3D work and am quite pleased.

a 17 or 18t pinion should work will with that motor and 6S

I may well disable the governor anyway, so not too much of a problem.

I’ve read the 400 fly’s better on full size tail servos so will definitely go for one, and might just go for the BLS251 to try as I usually stick with 9254’s.

I run a JR 8900 on the tail and it works well. The 9650 frame set makes things easy and includes the spacers you'll need for those servos.RIP ROMAN

I run a Logo 400 V-bar with a Castle Creations HV85 ESC, CC BEC, Scorpion HK-3026-1600 V2 motor, and 18 tooth pinion for 2700 to 2800 head speed. This setup gives ridiculous amounts of power, more than I could ever use.

The governor in the Castle ESC is awesome. I have not experienced any tail wags and it holds the head speed like a champ. Best ESC for the money IMHO. I have never had any problems with this set up at all.

I have ran a Futaba S9257 tail servo and i personally didn't like it at all. I switched to a Futaba BLS251 and have never looked back. It holds the tail awesome.

I get about 4 min of hard 3D using Kong Power 2600mAh 26C packs and I put back around 1900mAh when I recharge them. I know the Outrage NRG 3000mAh to 3300mAh should fit the frames and give better flight times at the expense of weight.

Just my 2 cents

Using a 1600kv motor? So you're also running a 5S battery?

I'm running a Scorpion 3026-1400kv from a 6S 3000mah battery
18T gearing giving ~2900 at the start of the flight
100 flat throttle (not governor mode)
It's certainly goes hard at the start
but still performs well at the end of my 4:50 3D flight

I'm using an Align 55amp ESC
As long as the X70 has a nice soft start it will be fine

I've got a S9254 on the tail and it works really well
Holds great in fast backward loops

The soft start on the X70 by default is too soft, it's almost ridiculous!
