The only real issue I have with my 8fg is the swash type selection. It just lists the type of swash in code (SR3 etc), with no diagram, so I end up having to break out the manual to setup a new heli
+1. If They can put SR3 on the screen, seems like they can put a pic of 120 degree swash. I think that's it at least...I don't have my manual with me to know for sure

For the price you pay for the 10C it'd better have pics and autopilot!!! I personally fly on a budget and the 8fg has all I need at a great price...it would just make sense to have a pic with the swash...shame on you chuck for bringing that up See you at the field Saturday afternoon...hopefully your receivers will be in and you can actually use your 10C...How much are you going to end up paying for your 10C plus two receivers anyway? My 8FG plus two was under 500$. Hope your pictures are worth it

About the same, $300.00 plus shipping for the 10C 2.4Ghz but of course I did need to purchase 2 receivers from Tower Hobbies. I got a quantity discount on 'em there. I'm happy! ;D Yep, pics ain't everything. And, of course, I really had been wanting a 10C for some time, and, I can simply drop that Futaba CAMPAC Module in the 10C and transfer my models to it that way. Menus are real similar to the 9C as well. But, look at it this way, Matt Botos AND Bobby Watts are both endorsing and flying the 8FG now, so, that's a good thing! Team Pilot for RCHeliWorkz

12Z
Update the 12Z with a backlight and get rid of the module plug-in. Face it, 72Mhz is going away. This radio would look sweet with the antenna on the top. More spacing on the switches on top.

@darkfa8 - That's the point. The manufacturer (Futaba in this case) can simply "buy in" display technology from the likes of Samsung, Sharp et al.

I'd be happy with a "10FG", basically an 8FG with a magnesium case like the 12/14 and a larger *inset* screen.

-How about a mini or micro usb port on the radio? Can be used to charge the radio battery and data transfer. This also would give you the option to use a micro/mini usb home/car charger, like cell phones use.
-I really like model match in my dx7.
-I like matching the timer to my throttle in my 7C.
-The older I get, I see value in the vibrating timer option.

Just my $.02.................

For all future Tx, they should have the stick calibration routine available to end users.

I suppose then that you have never flown at night or in the evening when the light is getting dim? How about setting up the model in the house? I have a JR 12X and a Futaba 9CAP. The back light feature is just plain AWESOME! When comparing it to the 9CAP the scene is hard to read. Plus, all of Futaba's new transmitters seem to be coming out with them.

Anyway, this thread is a suggestion to Futaba. This is a brainstorming session, not really for one person to question the other about their ideas. No flame intended, just don't need to go on and on about the back light. It is an idea to improve a product.

radios AND receivers should be lipo (2S - 7.4v) capable.
I don't understand how we can have cutting-edge, high-quality, feature-rich and blistering performance radios... all powered by a battery from the 80's that most times can't last an afternoon flying at the field.

Model matching for when I'm distracted.
Cost me a pretty spectacular crash that sent a landing skid 3 and a half houses down the street. Some days it doesn't pay to break in new batteries in front of the house.

I really have had no complaints with either the 9CHP Super I had or the 12Z I am currently using. My biggest complaint with BOTH of them was/is the manual. For what we pay for these radios AND the capabilities that these radios have, I would like to see a DVD manual that would:

1.Show how to set up the radio/model
2.EXPLAIN what the features are AND when/how you should use them
3.A detailed step-by-step rundown of all the features/capabilities and a "quick start guide" for the more experienced.

I am by no means a dummy, but I had one heck of time setting my governor (GV-1) up for the first time on the 12z. After a lot of help from the forums, I did it and discovered it is actually quite easy. You'd never know that from the manual!!! When I had the 9C I bought the book that a lady that worked for Futaba wrote. It was light years ahead of the OFFICAL maunal.

Oh, I did think of item that would be nice for scale flyers, an easy way to adjust phase timing on multi-blade heads. My Sea King/Vigor CS has a 5 blade head and I had to use aileron-to-elevator mixing and elevator-to-aileron mixing to get it set. AGAIN, the manual was useless to me here. Another pilot in Norway had the same rig and posted his set up on his web site. I followed his lead and it worked, by I have no idea why it worked or how it worked! This is what I mean by the #2 comment above.

While the support we get from other forum/club members and fellow Futaba users is great, we should not need to rely on these sources; the users manual should give us this info in an easy to read/understand format. Rant-off, sorry got carried away.

For there next generation of radio:
Wanting a platform based around the 8FG just with better switch spacing with every thing that the 8FG has to offer on current model, low latency, strong link, quad gimbles, back lite screen. I would also like it constructed around a heli programing format with vibrating timer, telemetry, model match, and lithium battery.
