I'd actually like to see something along the lines of an OS-52 or the new 56a in a Trex-500 frame with an electric fan for cooling (Odin style). Could have a temp controlled fan speed.

So I'm sitting here reading this thread and looking at the Radikal sitting up on the shelf while I have a browser tab opened to here comparing the dimensions to the engine bay where a G20 is now sitting... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...?&I=LXBY65&P=SM

..there appears to be plenty of room, and the Radikal fan and shroud can probably be adapted to work, got plenty of 6061 stock sitting out in the garage next to the mill and lathe, hmmmmm... when did they say the Radikal kits would be back in stock...?

you may be able to get a YS140 in that hole. I wonder what the HP comparison is between a 140 and a G20.

You want to put a $464.97 4 stroke nitro motor in your radikal? Ok, I guess its the challenge of getting it to work well

Just posting the question because I'm not too sure but isn't the Saito-180 about the same size and price? Or the Saito-125 (or even 115) is a lot lighter?

Just some thoughts on the 4s. I have done 3) 4s conversions. You can expect it to perform about .20 less than it displacement, ie a .91 generally is similar to a .70 2s. The 52 in the Raptor I have is similar to an OS .37. They make a great fly-around heli, that cant hardly be made to burn fuel, 15% at that. They will do basic aeros. If I were flushed with money I think a Saito 100/125 would be the ideal match for a .50 heli. YS engines are a great choice also. The OS engines are generally the easiest to fit as they pretty much follow the dimensions of their 2s engines, but probably make the least power. Run great though. Gearing and cooling are considerations. Choosing a heli that has good aftermarket parts and upgrades is a good idea. If you have a boat load of hi-perf helis, a 4s is almost a must have, just for fun. Doesnt matter what I take to the field, a 4s always goes, usually to relax with after scaring myself all afternoon .

There have been several model designed for four stroke motors.
Kyosho made a nexus I think it was called Legato for OS52 power.

TSK did a conversion kit for the MyStar 60 to run either an OS91 or a YS91. My Friend Andy Gray has one and I have the conversion kit.

A guy in my club used to fly an X-Cell with a YS91 in it. When he flew nobody down wind could see a thing because of the smoke.

A current fellow club member is fitting an OS52 into a Shuttle plus.
Why fly the rest when you can fly the best. What are the best these days anyway ?

i have an old morley bell 47 with an asp 61 4- stroke in it (it revs higher than an os and better for my gearing)
the gearing wasn't easy to find
the performance isn't that great and overheating is an issue

but it does sound good

You must use a governor or you will over rev and drop a valve.
That's why I fancy a RCV CD series fourstroke in a heli .
