Rave Tail wag, gain at 27%
I can't get my tail right. I had a spartan with a jr 3400G. Any gain over 27%(using travel adjust on the gear channel) and the tail wags. Under 27 and its fine if you like to do 4 point piros (not consistent turning at all but does hold the tail without wagging). I replaced everything on the tail except the tail hub. Now I run a mini G with a different 3400g, new torque tube, gears, new carbon blades, new ball and slider. Same thing happens on the mini G, over 28% and its wag wag wag time. My rave runs a scorpion -8 on 4s at ballistic headspeed. Any ideas?

The ballistic head speed comes to mind. Increased main rotor speed equals largly increased tail rotor speed. At some point the tail will actually explode. I suggest strongly getting the model in the 3200-3300 range max and start from there. If you are over that head speed, this could easilly be your issue.

From Jim Robertson post a while back

" 1) -10 w/14T pinion
2) The head speed is around 3400. Jamie sets his timer for 4 minutes and we put back in around 70% on the TP 2600s were using.
3) The IU1 curve is 100-90-100. The IU2 curve is 100-100-100. He tends to use IU2 the most."

I've stood next to Jamie while he flys his Rave and it sounds just a hair more wicked than mine. He runs a -10 on 14 tooth and good packs and I run a -8 on a 12tooth and 20c packs. At 85% efficiency thats 2985rpm for him and 3066 rpms for me. I'll turn it down a notch and try it out but I think I'm missing something else.

And the real answer is the carbon L shaped tail ball holder was cracked. Took out the screws and it fell into two pieces. I wont know what to do with myself if this actually works!KDS Agile 7.2/5.5 Chase 360 - SkyHero Spyder/Spy/Little Spyder

Try move the ball link to inner hole of servo horn.
This eases tail wag too.
