Funny crash today.lol....
I crashed the SR again today and I was amazed!!!!
I was flying with the huge 2800mAh lipo which is a lot more than 4 times the weight of the stock 1000mAh.
It was flying fine for about 15 minutes when I got a little brave and started some stall turns and that was that.lol....It got straight up and down(nose down)and didn't have enough power to lift the nose going forward. The tail also couldn't turn the nose up.
I tried everything. It was eventually inverted and no control.
I know when I'm beat so I hit throttle hold and let it fall head first about 35 or 40 feet.
It landed dead square on its head.

It was funny. It made a loud thud but something in the sound made me think it was OK.
I went down and picked it up and the flybar was bent 90 but other than being wet, that was it.
I straightened the flybar with my fingers, set it down and spooled it up and away it went.lol....Flying fine again.
I won't try the steep nose down stuff with that battery again.lol...

My 450 or 500 would have been a mess but neither of them would have gotten into that mess

I might try to belly sling the lipo and try again.
It was so nose heavy I had to hot land every time anyway.
It won't hover in one place with that cinder block on the nose.lol...

Welp, put a fresh 1000mAh pack in and went up again.
The thing started a fast piro a couple minutes in.

Not any real directional control but I held the nose to a really slow piro and brought it straight down.

A blade grip broke.Hmmmm....Must have cracked it with the head plant.lol...

Gonna get me some CNC grips and mixing arms next.

The plastic blades and cnc parts should make it tough as heck.lol...
Just some main gears and shafts will be needed in the first aid kit.

Now if I could just get the Rexies that tough somehow

LOL sure is a tough lil heli. Had my own incident last Sunday. Finally got to the point where I can hover well and get a little ff in so I was showing a friend how well I hover in the garage. Well as I was bumping my gums all proud of myself and not paying enough attention my SR drifted left into a small extention chord hanging from the door opener. All I could do was watch the head suck in the chord like spaghetti. After it was all done I got the main gear, after pulling about 2 feet of chord out. I've crashed alot while getting to where I'm at now and haven't really spent alot on repair parts.

I feel ya Chris.
I crashed my Trex 600 once and it just made me sick.
The blades alone cost more than this SR.

I've crashed my Trex 500 a few times too but it's not quite as costly.

I'm using the SR to break through my winter rust.
It seems like I've forgotten how to fly completely sometimes.lol....

Hey txbiker,I envy you buddy.
I never had so much fun with a heli in my life than when I got a good hover going and ventured out in FF.Biggest rush ever.Maybe even bigger than the first flip or roll.

Nah...first inverted anything was a pretty rush too.lol...
Cool thing with this hobby is that there is always something just outside your comfort zone that'll give you a rush.

Thanks for the comments and sorry to hear of your incident.
Have fun bro....
