removing starter cone from fan on C-30
I got me one of my favorites from way back. a concept 30 most of its in good shape. I wanted to remove the starter cone from the fan but I didnt see any screws holding it on so needless to say I broke off a few blades on the fan. I went back on ebay and won another fan and starter cone. but like the first one I dont see any screws holding it togather. They do come apart, dont they ? The instructions do show that they do. I see no screws in the cone on this one either. What am I doing wrong.
thanks

as far as i know both of mine have screws holding the cone to the fan. Maybe someone has epoxied or glued them together?

thats crazy. how would you get it back off if it wasnt broken. i upgraded mine to a hex adapter but even then its still held in with screws in the same place.

I just put a photo in my gallery that shows where those screws are supposed to be, (from the manual). Could it be that someone used shorter screws, and covered the heads?

No i tried small screwdrivers/ allen wrenches ext. and their is nothing in the holes and I see no screws sticking out on the inside. I really think someone glued the 2 parts togather. I would like to install some kind of hex adpt. so maybe later on I could put this in a body.

I took a really close look at it and the holes on the cone dont line up with the fan, so I am guessing the 2 parts are glued togather. Now I guess Ill be looking for a different fan without the cone so I can install some kind of hex adpt.

If the holes are still the right size for the original screws, you may be right about the glue. Good luck with that thing!

I am going to try and cut/saw the cone off. clean it up alittle, then find a hex adpt. that will fit the fan. drill a new hole and screw the hex adpt. on to the fan. any one have a part # or brand of hex adapter that will fit into the fan of the C-30 ?

sorry so long on the reply pizza hut , i ordered mine from a guy in england http://www.robsrchelispares.co.uk/. for the convenience of taking one starter to the field and cleaning up the back end of the heli i thought they were pretty reasonable. It just slides right in where the cone would mount and uses the same 2 screws yours are supposed to have.
