Millenium II Head(ache)
Hi chaps,

I've just upgraded my main blade grips to the quick UK version. I've noticed that at full + and - collective the flybar will not see-saw its full travel. This is because the input arm, where the main blade mixer bolts on to the grips, does not extend out as far (approx 28mm vesus 32mm), reducing the clearance between the main blade mixer to the headblock causing them to touch. Is it normal for the flybar not to be able to make full travel at certain points of rotation? I plan to call quick uk tomorrow to see if this dimensional change is intentional or if its a manufacturing batch issue (i doubt it due CNC'd).

Also i've noticed that with the collective stick towards the corners i get some serious binding from the head, but i can't see where its coming from or if its related to the above. I don't think it used to do this but i can't be sure.

I'd be very grateful if a few of you could take a look at your heads, or off the top of your heads (sorry no pun intended) and see if this is normal. My throws/pushrods are per the book.

Quick UK were very helpful and offered a refund, however they said, as an excuse, they are intended to be the same dimensionally as milli 3 grips. This is the same stock part number as milli 1 and 2 and futura!!

Does anybody know of any other metal grips for the robbe millennium/futura?

M3
Hi

if you using normal flybared version, just use Quickuk grips with Long washout arms. this way you will have enough pitch without binding.

if you plan to use Flybarless, go for RJX head, its the best can be.

Robbe had an aluminum blade grip set, part no. S4549
T&T Engineering made a set of aluminum grips for the Millennium /Futura, part no.601

If your grip’s center to center distance is shorter then Robbe's then the pushrod’s plastic ball link may get wedged between the bell mixer and the head block.

In order to mechanically increase the flybar’s seesaw travel, move the flybar ball links to the innermost positions (I assume you are using flybar carrier no. S4888) and or use the longer Millennium III style bell mixers (part no. S4936)

RJX head??
if i were to upgrade my flybar carrier, grips and washout arms its similar money to a full RJX 90 flybar'd head.

Is this better than the robbe stock and is it compatible with the 45deg robbe swash.
