Ah, the ones you have to put piece of zip tie under. I've been tack CAing mine. I wouldn't mind the same design but with a screw so it can be clamped.Heli-itis sufferer.

Slide a black tie under the top of the plastic sleeve. Then take a razor blade and cut the extra plastic of the tie off.

Check the photos..

the ones that came with my hk450gt are awesome they are tight to the point where they stay where you put them and don't dance around with vibration but not so i tight you can't move them with ease. and btw for a 500 they sell some that have a screw on them. very nice

I agree these don't move but for ease of use they take the cake. On my 600 cf I CA them inplace but wish they where the screw type

i might use the beam pushrod (BMH421443) but i wonder if the small tail servo that came with the kit will handle it with no boom support. i use the beam pushrod on my Futaba S9254 tail servo on other 450.

i just don't like a makeshift boom support. just a personal preference.

Clear tape! wrap it around the boom, then slide the guide over it, that snugs up the guide...
Then you can cut the tape if you want.. I make sure not to get finger prints on the sticky side of the tape, clean the boom before hand, and leave the tape... try it, no CA and it works great! I use it on all my helis.

Don't bash it till ya try it If you have a boom sitting around get it clean with a bit of alcohol or Windex, get one wrap around it neatly with no fingerprints on the sticky side, and then try sliding the rod guides over it. It works better than than zip tie method. Its clean and you cant see the tape. Depending on the boom and guide it might need more or less tape and its a piece of cake to do. No scratching up your boom with a blade, no glue or trying to shove a tie in the slot... Also some guides don't have the slot. either way its works for me and they never move or slip as they are very tight, I was just sharing it with you guys. No need to be rude
Sorry my Dcamera broke, phone cam isnt the best but its a clean look

rude would have been to comment on clear tape. clear tape is not part of a mechanical setup in my book.

NeilG when you make a post asking for advice, you should know that there are many different ways to get the same results. You should expect to get different opinions and advice. If you had a bigger trex you would see the use of tape in the manual on the boom just as I have described, so please don't take this the wrong way. Its coming from align and it works great, If you don't want to try don't, its that easy. I wish ya the best of luck and hope you get your guides the way you want them

It's funny. I regularly throw those little supports in the trash. I've been using a CF rod on my 450's for more than 2 years now.Avant RC
