Wow, I'm amazed.
I've taken about a year or so off from flying. I flew like crazy for the past five or six years, however, last season I hardly flew at all, or followed what was happening in the industry. I'm now starting to get ready for the new season, and am getting back into it... After a small amount of research, I see Align has come out with a 700 flybarless package which includeds servos, flybarless system, regulator, blades, basically everything execpt engine and receiver for just over 1000 bucks.

I remember just a few years ago the raptor 90SE's were the same price for the kit alone!

Align never seems to stop amazing me with what they are offering at such great prices.

Yep, an awesome flying model that has a low parts count, easy to assemble and maintain with inexpensive repair costs.

Great choice and welcome back.

When you buy a t700, you certainly do get what you pay for. So, when you overspend on a pricier kit what else are you getting that I am missing out on? I have flown nearly every brand out there. It seems to me that I get more than what I paid for when compared to the likes of a synergy n9, etc.

What do you fly and why is it better, other than bragging rights a chest thumping thrills?

since you ask I fly a vibe 50 because since it first came out around two years ago there has never been any upgrades for it since it is flawless from the beginning. I fly it because it tracks wonderfully and does not develop slop or require any maintenance. The quality is second to none and the pricing is good.

my issues with align though are not so much with their helicopters but the electronics they sell. Align electronics are VERY prone to failures. and customer support with align is non existent.

I do have to admit as far as 90's go there is nothing that can compete with the 700 as it is 50% the cost of most others.

So, you are bashing without personal first hand experience with 90 machines. NICE! What a great contribution.

I believe many will agree that the t600 is not nearly as refined as the t700. So comparing brand blindly is foolish too. The thread starter specified the 700.

I have not owned a 90 but I have built and flown just about every different 90 out there now with the execption of the SG and Hirobo

and he was not talking about just the 700 but also the electronics.

There is always going to be ones that do not like Align products. I however have been completely satisfied with there stuff. And as far as there electronics go I personally have not had any one go bad. There servos are great and have them on every bird. I have also heard really great things about there gyro's. The 700 is a very nice bird you will not be disappointed. I have over 200 flight's on mine and love it even more every time I fly it. So go ahead and get your 700 you will not be disappointed.est. 2006

I truly hate to get into these threads but I have run Align DS610's, DS620, DS650's and the Align Govenor all since they were first released.

I've had several hundred flights on Align servos and have never once had a failure on any 1 of the 3 machines that they were on.

This includes flybarless machines as well.

Align electronics got a bad rap because of the 2 in 1's that failed some time ago, there has not been any more Align electronic issues than there has been with Futaba, JR or Hitec since now many of the electronics are all manufactured by the same companies.

As for Align Customer Support, there is not and never has been an issue other than many folks assumption. Here is a recent article from Bert Kammerer on his website regarding these very claims.

http://www.bertrc.com/archives/605

Here is a quote from his article:
Align does not deal with end users directly. However, Align always replaces defective products via their distribution network and therefore if you buy an Align product from a legitimate dealer, you should have absolutely no problem going back to that dealer and asking for a replacement if you need to. Please keep an eye on Ebay items and questionable dealers, if in doubt, always ask your dealer where they buy their Align products from, you can always go to this page and verify that they are buying from an authorized Align distributor.

flying an align 700 with most stock electronics, servo, gov and 2n1 with my 611 set up its a great machine as many people will ride this band wagon.

now the align 3G flybarless route is another story and im not sure the 700 is quite ready for the 3G just yet until they hammer a few issues out.

the 500 I would have no issues running it on and ive heard the 500 takes to it pretty well.

I dont care what anyone says, the Trex 700 is the best bang for the buck. I owned a Synergy, which is considered by some to be the best, but I think the 700's price, availability of parts, and parts pricing makes it almost impossible to beat. The only other 90 that is priced great and has good part pricing is the Compass Odin, but you cant get parts nearly as easily.Team Sanjel!

Wow, looks like I stired the pot a bit... Didn't mean for that at all. I've just taken note to what Align is doing for us, and it appears to be well received by most! Maybe not quite everone though :P

I currently own two 450SE's, a 600E, and a 600N. I've owned the 600E for three or four years now, and must admit that it is by far the best helicopter I've owned. It's proven itself.

The price of the 700 (including the electronics) sure does look nice though!

People certainly are emotional to certain brands. It's like religion! If it flys well and cheap to fix I'll back it! I just value my bank account more than any heli.Team Sanjel!

after 12 years in the hobby i would say align offers the best bang for the buck ever. i fly with several pro sponsored pilots who love the 700.

see very little complaints from those who actually fly and have accomplished something with it along with having flown everything out there.

coming from some one who flew robbe and ma for years along with other brands, and those are among the best in r/c heli history.

nothing wrong with align.

The way Align has attacked the market share and and with their prices being the lowest out there, if the other companies do not adjust soon, they will lose their share of the market.

I was a Hirobo flier and a vibe flier. Great helis no doubt, but at the end of the day, you need a bigger wallet.
No matter their "higher" quality and a few loyal customers, more and more people switch brands I find, including myself last summer.

Align is far better today than it was a couple of years back.

I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I also think Align gets a bad rap sometimes too. Align pushes huge masses of product and someone is bound to get a faulty one from time to time. That goes for any Manaufacturer. But for some reason, the smallest fault and Align is branded as crap. I spent so much money and time flying JR, Kyosho, Hirobo, when I started, but I could never quite get the feel wanted from any of them. When I finally switched to Align, I finally felt like I didn't need to keep looking for a better heli. My hat goes off to Align and all their efforts. They may not be perfect, but they've done wonders for this market and even the haters benifit from it.Mellisa

i ve started heli rc hobby 2 years ago, started with HBK2, then pigeon 450, copterx450 end up replacing to align parts, then trex 500 on my wedding present from beloved wife, the started nitro align trex 600nsp, then when trex 700 first came out lots of faulty am afraid of buying it.. And end up buying avant for my first 90 heli but i never fly it yet, and look ppl around me having avant end up no parts around and very expansive replacement it make my avant as bench queen.. 6month after am buying trex 700 upgrade all the weak parts ie: mod1 gear, metal clutch bearing ... And am totaly very happy... 3 light crash soo far 2 flame out, and 1 blown piston coz i didnt know how to tune 90 engine properly until smack talk rc came out and now i knew the proper way of engine tuning, thou i am still on lerning 3d, but i really knew that align have the best market around and every website selling heli have the parts. Unlike avant ... But there is no doubt that avant got better flying charecteristic but... The most important thing.... Is u fly with no worrying of getting parts if u crash... Its is diffeent between factory sponsored pilot and own sponsored ... Just IMHO... Am amzed with align .. the wear and tear now is ball and link ... But thats is normalTrex 600,700 AND 450, GY611, GY401, OS5H, OS91HZ, MGP, HS65HB, Scorpion 2221-8,

I just built a 700 and was impressed with the simplicity of the build with the exception to the tail linkage from the tail grips to the yoke. I've always had to spend considerable extra time here to get it to not bind with all my Align helis. Other then that and so so hardware you really can't go wrong.
